Mahatma White Rice, 2 lb. (Pack of 18)

I bought this for the purpose of making a fermented rice water hair conditioner and it is definitely doing the job. LOVE IT.

I bought this lg brown rice in February of ‘19. Its expiration date is May of ‘19. From the stamp it’s evident the rice was packaged in March of 2017, two years before I bought it. Please see a picture comparison between it and an organic lg brown rice grown in the us and purchased in bulk drom a local grocer.

I wanted rice from Asia. This rice is from Texas. The arsenic level in rice is highest in rice from Texas and the Carolinas. I feel they chose this name to mislead.

rice is great, packaging is a bit flimsy and the "reseal" feature is really just a piece of tape across the top. but as long as you open it gently it should be fine, and even if it does rip you can always just toss it into a ziplock bag or tupperware.i've purchased this brand several times and been happy with the way the rice tastes, and the quality (no blackened grain) and that's the important thing. (but i am docking one star for the packaging)for best results when cooking I used a 2:1 ration of water to rice, add the rice when the water is boiling, stir once and put on a tight fitting lid. lower the heat to med-low. cook 15 minutes without opening the lid, then turn off the heat and STILL DON'T TAKE THE LID OFF. Let it sit another 10 minutes before you open and fluff.Another tip: instead of using plain water try broth, and also consider adding butter or olive oil, bay leaves and other spices before adding the rice

Just opened this rice package , the rice is rancid smelling . Would like to get my money returned , very disappointed

This rice is a game changer for us. We have been buying a different brand and it just didn't cook well. Same type and organic but not nearly as good. This made PHENOMENAL perfect rice. We'll never buy another type of Organic Brown again. Really can't say anything else except that every aspect of this rice is perfect!

I can not comment on the flavor or ease of use of the rice for culinary purposes, I use this for rice water to wash my face each day. It's perfect and I love that it is organic and reasonably priced. I simply put a cup in a bowl, cover with filtered water and let stand for 2-12 hours. I then strain and refrigerate the rice water, discarding the rice. Use this daily for 5-7 days as a face cleanser and toner and then make a new batch.

I have been testing a lot of different brands of rice lately and I have to say this is definitely at the bottom. Flavor is bland, it is quit fragrant when cooking but quickly loses that factor. Consistency is poor both in grain quality and after cooked. I am using a zojirushi to make all of the rices I have been comparing. Even a high-end rice cooker can’t save this rice!
