Makes me fear what I might find

I returned this, and Amazon was great as usual with the return / refund. Unless you want to leave this on in the background and wait a long time, an hour or two, you won't get an accurate reading because the detector is too small, gets very few hits. I ended up buying a used, but mint condition, RadAlert 50 for not much more than this thing; the RadAlert is large enough to give a real time radiation level and counts per minute, offering an audible, chirping count alert if you like. As it happens, RadAlerts are the radiation detectors currently used in displays at the Bradbury Museum at Los Alamos National Labs.

THis is a great answer for the low cost prepper. It will give a simple "Yes" or "No" answer. When testing food items or general area conditions, you can know weather radiation is present and if so is it problematic. For the low cost up front, it will give some peace of mind while you save up for a top shelf counter.

Unit peaked during hurricane last year(2017).I believe it is a good indicator.Type of radiation, indeterminate.

I used it for a project to measure how much radiation my project radiated. It did give me data but it was really weird and you had to turn off wifi, your data, and Bluetooth. You also kinda had to tap it a bit to work properly and it wouldn't always show a reading right away. I wouldn't say it's worth the money, but if you need to semi BS some data or just check around your house for fun its alright, if you're doing real scientific research or need accurate data get a real Gieger Counter, thisbsint a great substitute.

I got it to read out when i had the sensor close to a smoke detector -once, Never again,- I could be be doing something wrong but i am not convinced yet, Great factor and form and price, if i had a stronger source my testing might be better,

It works well. Fairly accurate as far as i can tell.

Did not work. Tested it against other products and this gave no reading. Returned the unit to the seller and they claim to never have received it. The return was executed within 3 days of having the product. Save your money and your time, don't purchase this from this vendor.

I just bough one but it's not working. The item seems broken. I requested a return and the seller approved a refund. The bad thing is the postage is on your own expenses and the cheapest charge from Canada post cost you more than $20+tax.

Would be alot better if it came with a Manual rather then a 2''x 2'' paper
