Back on Christmas day of 2008, I bought some Dormer brand drills I had found listed on Craigslist. Not being familiar with the Dormer brand, I thought I would give them a try since the price seemed fair. The individual selling them had four different sizes available so I bought one pack each of the largest and smallest sizes he had. I've tried many brands over the years and had almost given up hope of ever finding a good brand of drills. That was almost four years ago and I can honestly say today that the Dormer drills are the best I've ever bought. I've only used one drill out of each pack and they are as sharp today as when I bought them. I've drilled at least 50 holes with each drill in materials ranging from hardened steel to copper to aluminum to plastic and still haven't managed to dull either bit.So, when the time came that I needed a set of wire gauge drills, I looked at several brands and finally decided to go with a brand I trust. I was not disappointed. This set is of the same high quality as the Dormer drills I had purchased in 2008. If you doubt the quality standards of the Dormer brand, just do a Google search and check them out for yourself. Also, the storage case is very well designed. It's designed in such a way as to allow only one drill at a time to be removed from the case. There's nothing quite as frustrating as accidentally dropping a bunch of drills this small and then trying to find them. The unique design of this case eliminates that potential problem.

Actually, I bought this set more to gauge metric holes than to drill them, so I can't speak to their sharpness nor durability, etc.However, they arrived promptly and well packed. The container is a very attractive and practical cylindrical plastic drill index with a rotating cover that you can turn to let a specific drill slide out without spilling the whole contents out. it seems to be strong enough to survive average use. No weak little hinge balls to break off first time you open it.The bits are well made, cleanly cut and clearly marked. I am very satisfied with the set so far and am looking for a set of larger metric bits from the same company.

Great price, quite sharp, but easy to break.

This set of metric drill bits (Dormer) is extremely well packaged in a durable compact and easy-to-use container that is better than the usual drill index. To get a drill, turn the top to the bit you want, then tip the container and the desired bit falls out of a hole in the top. I have only given them limited use, but so far they have proven to be of high quality.GENERAL ISSUE: Amazon should carry a deeper selection of metric tools and hardware. I am switching my whole home shop to metric since most of what I've been working with lately is metric even when it is built "stateside". It's annoying to pay premium prices for items that are standard in the rest of the world.

Slowly but surely I am being forced to admit that there is this thing called the "metric system". While I have purchased the odd metric bit in the past, this is my first metric only set. I hadn't purchased Dormer before, but the quality seems to be good. I have mixed feelings about the plastic dispenser. It is convenient, but I wonder about cracking and splitting as it is used, and frankly, I am beginning to be concerned about the sheer volumes of plastic being manufactured with no long term plan for dealing with a waste product whose post-use life which can border on immortality. I would have much preferred a traditional metal drill index.Above issues aside, I think these are great drill bits, and will buy Dormer again. I just wish that these were available in screw machine length, and 135 degree points, so I could buy a set of those as well.

A very nice set of metric drill bits in the most commonly used sizes. I purchased them to install a carbon fiber recumbent bicycle seat that used 5mm hardware. Yes, one can approximate and use the nearest Imperial size, but I'm not that kind of guy.The bits are of good length, and very sharp. They were not cheap to purchase, but they are not cheaply made. And the plastic dispenser case is a nice feature.

I bought these for a project, nice cut, good quality. I like the index case, it makes it easy to store and keep track of in my tool box with minimal bulk.

I paid more for these than other sets which were poorly reviewed on Amazon. It turns out that these weren't any better. The set is supposed to have 20 different size bits, but instead had several duplications. I measured them with Micrometers to be sure. They may be fine for jewelry makers, but they do not work well for serious users like guys working on carburetors. Best to buy the sizes you need directly from reliable vendors if you need real precision.

I have used Dormer for decades, best quality and constant accurate sizes . Hard to beat.

Best drill bits I've ever purchased good for repeatedly drilling holes in steel trunking, cable tray, distribution boards etc. And I still haven't had to sharpen them.

These are great. i have been using drill bits for a long long time but found them all to suck after some heavy use. I have been drilling steel for a week now with these and they are fantastic. I found this make recommenced on a mig welding forum and i am glad I did.
