Our Gelatinized Yellow Maca powder is made from 100% Yellow Maca roots grown traditionally on a farming co-operative high in the Peruvian Andes. These roots, about the size of a radish, make up about 60% off the annual Maca harvest in Peru and are nutrient rich. Gelatinized Maca is pre-cooked in a special process that helps dissolve much of Maca root's starch content. This makes the final powder easier to digest. While some nutrients are altered in the heating process, Gelatinized Maca is still effective since it's quite concentrated. It takes about 4 Kg of Maca roots to create 1 KG of Gelatinized Maca Powder.
