The BEST hobby knife one can own.
This hobby knife is undoubtedly the most comfortable I have ever used. I have been using it for a few weeks now and my grip on it always feels sturdy and comfortable. I have used other hobby knives like the Xacto knife and other cheaper Chinese brands but Excel Blades always made better quality versions right here in America. Excel Blades builds this hobby knife here in the USA and is clearly made to last. Though the logo on it may fade away someday I can already tell that this knife will last me my lifetime. Also, Excel Blades makes replacement blades of different sizes and uses in the USA as well. This is just another solid product from a great American company. A must-own hobby knife for any hobby.

Nice tool
Never comes loose like the typical cheap xacto holders that tighten at the top.

A Fantastic Replacement for the Xacto
I have a need for a hobby knife every so often. I've been having issues with Xacto knives as a brand lately. I could not get the blades to be snug, even if I tightened it with pliers (which seemed kinda sketchy to do with a hobby knife.)After some frustration with the clamping of the blades on the Xacto knife, ai decided maybe it's time to try a different brand. After reading some suggestions on reddit, this one brand was mentioned a few times. Decided it was cheap enough to give it a shot. Turned out to be a good choice. Feels good in the hand and no more wobbly blades! Also super happy it just takes the old Xacto blades since I have those laying around.Another bonus if you are into 3D Printing, but I like Gridfinity as a organizer system and there is a 1x1 Xacto module that will store your Xacto at a 45° angle and spare blades and the Excel knife fits into that just fine.Overall, I think these Excel knives are my new hobby knife brand.

Much better than basic
Feels good, the way it supports the blade has worked great, very tight. Also fun to fidget with. SO much better than the front screw types. However the knurrled bit is a bit off center and the clamps are a bit soft, so maybe after a while might cause issues but so far so great.

Better than the new X-Acto design
I have really been enjoying this knife. The old-style X-Acto knives used to draw the collet into the body of the knife by turning the knurled portion near the blade, holding the blade very snug and releasing it easily. The new style X-Acto has the collet loose in the body, meaning turning the knurled area on the body does nothing, and you have to actually hold the sharp blade itself and turn it to get the collet to catch and tighten. It's a poor design that favors economy and profit over quality and safety.I really like the Excel style of knife, as it has gone with the draw-bar method of tightening the collet, and makes it very easy to change blades, while holding them very securely. It's very easy to set the blade in and tighten the knurled knob at the other end of the body to hold the blade at just the right tightness. This design works great and has been used in lathes for probably 150 years. I used to love the X-Acto brand, but cutting corners for profit has led me to switch to using the Excel knives, and I'm glad I did.

BEST crafting knife!
Padded handle helps with grip-blades are sharper, well made and last longer. I used to break the cheap ones often working on wood. I am curious why the colored ones are more expensive than black. ??

Totally worth the money
This is the best hobby knife I've ever used. The blade chuck is sturdy so nothing slips around. My favorite thing about this handle: it has just a little bit of flex to it. If you are like me, cutting stencils and need fine detail around curved lines or circles, this little bit of flex in the handle minimizes the stress on the blade's tip as you curve around. The entire blade itself, and the handle all bend a little together. This means less broken tips.I still break tips. A lot. I'm hard on blades. But with this handle I'm breaking them less and have more control with complicated cuts. Its sturdy as heck too. Dont let all my flex talk take away from that. Heavy, straight cuts are easy. Its solid as a rock, with just a wee flex that has been a godsend for me.

I've been waiting for this kind of design
I was expecting something sturdier than what is essentially the plastic body of a paper-mate flexgrip pen. However, I was tired of the traditional xacto blade holding design that unscrews if you look at it the wrong way... This works in a similar way than how a milling machine's collet gets pulled in by a drawbar! As I suspected by just looking at it, this design is not affected by twisting motions and that is exactly what I was looking for!

Very pleased with it. Excellent product.
Good to grip. Superior method of clamping blades, easy and does not loosen in use like others.I bought two more different colours for different blades. Recommend.
