An Edmund Dulac Treasury: 116 Color Illustrations (Dover Fine Art, History of Art) Paperback – Illustrated, June 16, 2011

It showed off a lot of my favorite Edmund Dulac pieces, and the colors were vibrant. But, the images themselves were pretty low quality, which might mean the publisher couldn't gain access to more high res images. If they were just a bit better, it would've been perfect. I'll still get use out of the book, it just leaves a lot to be desired.

I am obsessed with illustrators and the cheeky little book: "Lyrics Pathetic from A to Z", by Dulac caught my eye.This book has snatches of all the major themes of Dulac's body of work, including I was thrilled to find- 6 letters B, D, K, L, N, Q.The darker, gray tone illustrations, including the cover, are quite fuzzy, but the lighter ones are sharp. I am not sure if this was unavoidable given the 12" X 10" size of the reproduction.But it definitely is easier to study the details in these larger-size illustrations.I think I will keep this for the sheer breadth of themes.

See my review of The Essential Edmund Dulac. But suffice it to say, this book FAR outweighs the other in terms of the broad selection and the subtlety of the colors. As with all Dover color illustration collections, one must beware that some of the colors lose their subtlety and tend towards looking as if they have a greenish, brownish or bluish wash over them. But compared to the Essential book, it's obvious that the prints here are much truer to whatever they would be in any first edition. There are very gentle gradations of shade in the colors of the pictures along with Dulac's wonderful lines. I saw one first edition advertized for $6,000 or more so I will content myself with this and other Dulac reproductions I own.

Beautiful book

a fairly comprehensive sampling of illustrations from various books, however this is not a complete treasury. I don't think any of the books he illustrated are represented in their entirety here. a lot of nice color images for the price.

Terrible quality reproductions, barely in focus. Little detail picked up.

Good book but the quality of the illustrations copy could have been better. Very interesting illustrator with a very unique style.
