Beautiful colors and packaging
These paints blew me away. I'm not even using them and I am already impressed. The packaging is wonderful, the colors are so bright and vast there are so many colors you can create. There is even a chart on the inside of the lid showing what two colors make what. This is definitely the best thing to get for the artist in your life. They could be beginner or advanced, these are nice paints at a great price.

caps fail -> paint dries out
There is one major drawback to this starter set of acrylic paints. The caps are very flimsy. If you tighten (unwittingly) too firmly, the top portion rips off. Or, with enough use, residual paint along the opening of the tube will make the cap stick a bit (that's not abnormal) so that when you apply any excess force to open the tube, the top of the cap rips (unacceptable). I've attached a photo to demonstrate this. I have to keep the tops of tubes sealed with plastic - this has happened to all the colors I've used with any frequency. I'm no brute - these caps are just too flimsy! The result is that I've gotten much less use out of my favorite colors in this collection because they dry up in the tube before I'm able to access the full amount. I would (a) suggest looking for a different brand, or (b) do an internet search to get advice on what colors other artists recommend for a starter set and then buy them separately because the other comment I have is that some shades in this kit I've found superfluous. Here's what I'd recommend for a basic starter kit: black, white, pthalo blue, pyrrole red, cadmium yellow, vermillion, viridian green, yellow ochre, burt umber, quinacridone violet.

Don’t buy these - they aren’t water fast.
At first, I thought it was me and I just didn’t remember how to paint with acrylics. But nope, these have a paint volume like acrylics but the color is too translucent AND they aren’t water fast after they dry. I finally tested them on a resin, let them dry, and then wiped the paint off with a wet paper towel....I typically only leave reviews for products I like, but poor quality paints really do affect the creative process and I’d hate for a new painter to give up after not getting the results they expect with these. And no these aren’t a good substitute for tradional water colors either - there is too much paint volume.

Not Bad
Paint could be thicker. I have purchased other acrylic paint and it was a bit thicker than this. It covers nicely, blends very well and colors are true. Just wish is was a tad bit thicker.

Good quality paints in a good range of colors
Good quality paints in a good range of colors. Am doing color mixing exercises from a color theory book -- they needed a certain range of colors (warm and cool reds, warm and cool blues....), and artist-quality pigments, to get true versions of the colors. These worked beautifully -- very happy with the pigment quality. Would definitely buy from this brand again.

Love these paints! Make it so easy for me to paint on glassware.
Love these paints! I had bought some other paints but they just weren't working well. A friend of mine bought this paint set and was really pleased so I bought some too. Having so much fun painting glassware with these paints. They go on nice and smooth...if I make a mistake it comes off clean and once I am finished and bake....they look so professional. I would recommend these paints to anyone...especially beginners.

You get what you pay for?
Terrible paint...should be labeled water color paints because of how thin and unworkable this is.
