Collectable collection
Even an avid reader, if biased to a subject, may find reviewing a book difficult. I am facing difficulty here! The cover of the book is eye-catching. The content, revealing folk culture of Kumayun region is interesting, long translator's note is informative. And here I realise, I am biased. The book is a collectable for folktale enthusiasts, but certainly not a children's delight. People who like folktales as pleasure reading and not interested in cultural studies may not find it interesting. In one sentence - I love the book as it suits my taste, not sure about everyone else.Clever Wives and Happy Idiots: Folktales from the Kumaon Himalayas
