The Long War Against God (The Henry Morris Signature Collection) Paperback – June 1, 2019

I find it a sign of spiritual and intellectual imaturity when a young christian goes to the University, reads some books and then comes to Church and tries to debunk the Word of God based solely on human speculation. Well..."been there, done that". However, the more I read human stuff (and I read a lot of it for professional reasons), the more I realise that nothing compares to God's Word. Henry Morris is one of my favorite authors because he takes the Bible seriously. He starts from the Bible and debunks human "wisdom" (lack of it). That's the way to go. If you read what the Bible says about human wisdom, you have not choice but to do what Henry Morris does.Here are some points about the book that I would like to emphasise:1) Evolution could not be God's method of creation. It is too cruel, inefficient and irrational. Jesus' nature (the incarnate WORD), life and character are a vivid refutation of evolution.2) (remember that in 3 days Jesus rose again with a new body. He didn't need 3 billions of years of struggle, suffering and death to evolve one).3) Evolution is part of different pagan traditions that developed (specially after Babel) in the darkness of sin. These traditions have always been with us. Platonism and Aristotelism are just to examples of how these traditions influenced christian theology (Augustine and Aquinas), because christian theologians thought that the Bible might be missing something. Henry Morris, followint the teachings of Jesus and His apostles (v.g. Peter, Paul) simply states that the Bible is not missing something. If one reads the Bible, one has to conclude that that's exactely what the Bible teaches about itself.4) The Sermon of the Mount is the proof that God has nothing to do with survival of the fittest. Every time christians engage in deception, violence, murder and genocide (which unfortunately they have done), they are violating the laws of the Creator and showing that "all have sinned: all fall short of God's glorious ideal" Rom 3-23).5) Contrary to popular belief, science hasn't proved evolution, nor could it, because evolution simply didin't happen. If you think science has proved evolution, think again:a) the origin of the universe and the origin of life remain a mistery. Even Miller and Urey have confessed that life may be much more complicated than they have thought. How can one affirm evolution as a fact when the first step (the origin of life) of it remains a profound mistery? The prebiotic soup and abiogenesis are nothing but a just-so story.b)It is still to be found a single mutation that is able to create new DNA information that codes for new functions and structures. Mutations reshuffle, duplicate sort, exchange, remove or maintain pre-existing information. They just don't create new information. Natural selection removes information. Speciation is not evolution. Creationist only deny the latter. They perfectly accept (and predict) natural selection and speciation.c) There are no transitional forms in the fossil record and in molecular biologicy. Based on evolution's predictions, we should expect trillions. The few that have been put forward are highly controversial, even among evolutionists. Not a single one is consensual among evolutionists themselves.d) Vestigial organs are not vestigial organs after all. The same is true about "junk-DNA". Both turn out to have a design function. So much for another "proof" of evolution.e) Evidence of design is overwhelming and growing. Examples of irreducible complexity and complex specified information abound. Fine-tuning is everywhere. Billions of examples.f) Some so called bad design is simply not bad design, or it may be the result of deterioration. The Panda's thumb is actually excellent design, after all. Steven Jay Gould was just a "nasty little boy".g) Gradualism didn't happen. Creationists will have to agree with Steven Jay Gould on this one.h) Saltationism and punctuaded equilibrium are "scientific" nonsense. Creationists will have to agree with Richard Dawkins on this one.i) Many geologists speak in terms of (Lyell's) uniformitarianism. But the rocks and the fossils themselves are shouting: "Flood!". The Flood remains the best explanation for the existence of numerous flood traditions, the fossil record, the continental drift, the ice age, oil and coal deposits, the catastrophic evidence of rock formation and displacement, etc.j) "Ontogenesis recapitulate phylogenesis". Just one more example of a failed attempt to prove evolution. Nice try. It has been refuted and Haeckel's embrios denounced as fake. The problem is that for many decades this was used to persuade people that evolution was a scientific fact. Many imature young christians used it to "debunk" God's Word.k) Creationists are not against science. God's created universe is there to be known and studied. However, the Universe is not just matter, energy, space and time. It is also information. Information is the bridge between God's mind, the universe and human's mind. The more we appreciate it, the more we can see God's glory. Human brains and the Earth itself have been designed by God for scientific discovery.Creationists just distinguish between operational science and origins naturalistic speculation. But the universe is also about God's moral law. Sin is a kind of virus that also affects the workings of the Universe. That's way God cursed the universe when sin entered the world.The Universe has large amounts of information, but not all the information we need. There are somethings about God, creation, sin, curse, Flood, Babel, redemption, new creation, etc. that the uníverse is unable to inform us about. That's way we need the Bible.

Dr. Morris shows in this book how the theory of evolution is taught as "fact" in schools and colleges. Written 20 years ago in 1989, most of the information is still viable today. The evolution deception is actually bigger than the Keynesian economics deception that has plagued most of the 20th century and into the 21st. Atheists/agnostics must come up with some sort of explanation for human and animal life, and this is it. It is also very interesting to learn that Charles Darwin was guilty of plagiarism and was also racist in his belief that the African race (brain) is inferior. Darwin truly was a wicked man.Dr. Morris also shows how followers of the theory of evolution are responsible for most of the major wars of the 20th century. It truly is a religion. Great read!Acts 8:36,67: And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

A must read book by those in the creationist camp. The book will leave you wanting to research more. Based on the foundation of God’s inerrant Word it will inspire you.

This book is the one that probably started the creation revolution. People were tired of being fed the lie of evolution and knew not where to turn. Thank God for Dr. Morris. He brings to light how evolution permeates all of the sciences and all of the religions of the world. None are accepted. He brings to light the fruits of evolution and the ultimate destruction of the soul of those who follow that path of reasoning. I really wish that every theological teacher, pasture, minister, bishop, evangelist, deacon, you name it, would read this book. They can draw there own conclusions as to what they see happening around them as the morals of a once great people are disposed of, for the moment of selfish desire. Could one say the natural man loves the teaching of no God, because then he thinks he cannot be held responsible for his actions? He claims he is a result of his enviornment and therefor cannot be held accountable. What a sad commentary. We know that we are all born with a conscience. It does not matter where one is born or under what circumstances they came into this world, we all knew right from wrong and we know that their are many things we would not want done to us, ( we call this the golden rule) and yet when we void the conscience, we think we are free of the evential accountability. This book is the one of Dr. Morris' books that I had the hardest time reading. The first few chapters admittedly had me thinking I had found one of his books that I might not be able to complete. Thankfully, I stuck with it because this book quite possibly gave me more knowledge than any others. The other books speak to individual ideas and supposed refutations of Christianity. They talked about the flood and the nature of the Trinity. But I kept coming back to one question - WHY would Satan continue to fight? HOW COULD HE have deceived himself into thinking he was even LIKE God - let alone was a god himself? This book gives the understandings of those kinds of questions - the root and basis of evil - and the pitiful, deceived nature of evil. While I can only conceive of a fraction of God, this book helped me to answer some basic questions that haunted me. If you read this book, and you understand and come to believe the hypotheses put forth based on the evidence presented, you will fall in Love with God.

This book is a very in depth walk through the history of the theory of evolution. It identifies evolution for what it is, and is very readable.It does a great job of showing just how important and effective this tactic has been for the enemy through the ages. Nothing new under the sun. Mr. Darwin.

O livro é excelente, disso eu já tinha certeza. A vida e a obra deste homem de DEUS, mente privilegiada de um verdadeiro cientista e investigador, não pode ser medida em meras e poucas palavras. E, embora o tempo de entrega tenha sido longo (praticamente dois meses), eu esperei com paciência, expectativa e confiança de que o receberia a contento. Portanto, não foi um problema, afinal. E valeu a pena a longa espera (...mas sem a intenção do trocadilho com o título do livro)! Obrigado.

A unique book that uncovers the ways in which, from the very beginning, satan has challenged God's role as creator in the philosophies and beliefs he has persuaded men to adopt. The chain of evolutionary teaching is revealed as being born, not a couple of hundred years ago through Darwin et al, but almost immediately after the Fall - and even perhaps believed by the self-deluded devil himself as he convinced himself of his claim to the throne of heaven. This book fills in a hole in christian thinking and apologetics, giving answers that are very hard to find elsewhere. Highly recommended - it should never be allowed to go out of print.

thank you dr morris for this great work. your perspective on the great controversy is superb! reading your last chapter solidify the role of catholicism and the Loyola counter reformation as the antichrist as well as compromising protestant churches as the false prophets in my mind. i am certainly excited about the way you cleared the dust of history and exposed the truth about so many evils in this world.

Outstanding documentation of the accumulated evidence over the centuries of the long war against God that is doomed to failure.

Very interesting take on the creation vs evolution debate, not fir the faint of heart, can make the most devout atheist lise his faith.
