My little dog rides in this crate when we go anywhere in the car. Her previous crate had no holes in the bottom so if she wanted to see out, she had to sit up. With this crate, she can lay down but still keep her eye on me.The crate was a little difficult to put together but once together, it stays together. I love the little knob closure because there is less chance of the metal tearing my car seats compared to the previous crate. It is a shame hardly anyone makes this closure any longer. It is also very convenient that you can open the door from either direction.It is light enough to be easy to carry but heavy enough that I feel like my girl is fairly secure in it.

We actually bought two of these. One for the bedroom and one for the living room. Pup sleeps and takes nap in it all the time. Nice and roomy and vent holes provide good circulation. We had no issues putting the crate together. Also really like that the door can open from the left or the right. Has come in handy a few times, especially when we put the crate in the car for some small trips.One note, do keep in mind the dimensions are how it measures on the outside with those little edges sticking out. So we did need to go up a size larger than what we thought. We kept the original for the bedroom since pup will just be sleeping all the time in that, but felt we should get one size up for when he may need more room.

Good kennel for small animals (12lb terrier in my case). Roomy enough for dog to turn around, even with a water dish attached to the kennel door and blocking some of the space. Recently used this on a road-trip and our dog was comfortable during the drive and got in the kennel willingly, when we were ready to head out on daily outings. To me, the dog's willingness to get in is the highest measure of "goodness".Build quality is good but not perfect. Plastic molding left some rough edges (called "flash" if you're into plastic molding terminology). These can be easily cut off with a knife or razor blade. Cage door can be opened from either side, which is nice. However, it's not always easy to position the locking pins in the holes on the 1st try. After latching the top and bottom shells together, screws are passed through the corners to ensure the pieces stay together. The nuts on the screws are just molded plastic wing nuts. They would probably break if you plan to disassemble and reassemble this repeatedly. Head to the hardware store and buy metal wing nuts if that happens. For comparison, we also own a larger Petmate kennel and it doesn't have any of the "blemishes" noted above.Overall, I'm pleased with the kennel and would recommend it to a friend. Good value.
