I like this product because it tastes very much traditional Japanese plum paste without additives. I like this also because it doesn't contain Shiso which is a kind of plant to make the paste brighter red. As this is very salty, I add a very small amount of this to rice that's why this small bottle of paste lasts for a quite long time. It tastes authentic.

I love to use this for cooking asUmami. marinate meat with oil and wine.Also fried rice instead of salt or source.Simply mixed up with pasta and chopped basilAnd tomato topping is my favorite.If you like sweeter taste add to this pasteYour favorite sweetener.

This paste has a lovely salty, tangy, and subtle plum flavor. I like to make a salad of diced cucumbers, onions, and tomatoes and stir in a very small amount of this paste with some rice wine vinegar sprinkled generously over the salad. Then mix well and enjoy. Very delicious.

So happy to find this product on Amazon. Not many stores in the Southwest carry it. Fast shipping and reasonably priced.

umeboshi takes a little getting used to but it really compliments the Japanese rice I enjoy it with

It's easy to use but had weird taste other than typical sourness. Not sure if I'll buy again.

Very nice condiment, makes for great salad dressings. Expensive compared to mustard but it acts as a thickening agent without affecting the flavor, so perfect with balsamic vinegar. A raw egg yolk works well and is cheaper but some people here complain about that. :) All in all, an excellent product.
