Another Cozy to Snuggle With!
I'm seriously in love with cozies. Brilliant books that are long on plot and character and without some of the more sordid elements of other books. Not that I don't like a little sex and violence in the books I read, but sometimes, it's nice to keep them "clean". I fell in love with Mona Moon with the first book recommended to me. I've been gobbling them up ever since, as fast as the author can write them.Heiress Madelyn Mona Moon is bored. Her life wraps around fund raisers, garden parties, and the like. A very wealthy woman, she can't make a move without a body guard keeping tabs with her. So, when the opportunity comes for some adventure -- looking for a mythical silver mine in Eastern Kentucky -- against advice from her friend and lawyer, Dexter Deatheridge, she snaps it up...like a duck on a june bug. It's an adventure that doesn't turn out the way she'd hoped, the way she'd assured Dexter it would. And Mona finds that her life, and the love of her life, Robert Farley's, is very much in danger.Exposition is always hard to present without being boring. Ms. Keam does it with dialogue and anectodal histories that kept me hooked. Important information, too, because the story is wrapped up in it. The action kept me reading in that conunudrum that a great book always leaves me in: I can't read fast enough to find out what happens but I can't read slow enough to savor those wonderful moments. And there are plenty of twists and turns along the way to keep anyone who thinks they've got it figured out a bit disappointed when they find out--no, they didn't figure it out after all. And isn't that the fun in a great whodunit?I love these characters. I can't get enough of them. Mona is a sassy woman in a time when women were expected to be subservient. She rubs elbows with some real people from the time. I love her madly. And I love Robert Farley, a self-exiled royal who also happens to be in line for the English throne. He and Mona are opposite sides of the same coin, complimenting each other perfectly. Even the minor characters bring their parts to the stories. You can't help but love them all.Definitely another 5 out of 5 stars rating and another great read for a lazy afternoon. I can't wait for more!!

Five Stars!
Another great Mona mystery! Book four of The Mona Moon series. I love Mona’s strong character and fearless spirit. Book four takes Mona away from the comfort of Moon Mansion on an expedition to find proof of a lost silver mine. This is something Mona is good at. Her years as a cartographer makes her a valued member of the team and not just the underwriter of the expedition. But shortly into the journey, deep in the Appalachian mountains, something feels off. Mona must trust her instincts and the ever present and ever persistent Lord Farley to make it out alive. As always, Ms Keam includes rich Kentucky history into this book. I often find myself bookmarking information to look further into a subject that she’s highlighted, that I’ve never heard of.

Insightful Story From the Heart
Mona Moon, bored with mundane formalities, is off on another adventure—a historical trek through the Appalachian Mountains to discover the existence of a folkloric silver mine. Saddling and riding horses on rugged terrain was more than what Mona bargained for, no less finding a member of her expedition murdered in the middle of nowhere. Will she and her team return home safe before being plucked off one by one?Author Abigail Keam skillfully melded centuries of historical culture and survival of the intriguing Appalachian people. I thoroughly enjoyed this amazing journey with Mona, her beloved (and at times aggravating) Farley, along with her endearing poodle, Chloe. It was a combination of suspense, poignancy and enlightenment all wrapped in one gift bag of the heart.❤️

History and Mystery
Another Mona Moon mystery. This time Mona travels to Eastern Kentucky where Abigail weaves a history lesson on Frontier Nursing Service, the Blue Fugates, Duncan Hines and the Pack Horse Library Project among others, into another heart pounding story. Her Appalachian dialect and expressions are spot on. As this series develops, the characters just keep getting better and better.

Very very good read
My title is honest and direct. I have read all the Mona Moon mysteries, so far, and have found all of them enjoyable. The plots are interesting and you don't know the solution until they are solved. But all the clues are there. I've been reading mysteries for over 50 years and this is one of the few series that actually captivate me and hold my interest from beginning to end

The historical references in the story.
Once again, I totally enjoyed reading about Mona and her interesting adventures. Absent this time was her gorgeous wardrobe visuals but replaced with excellent historical references and an intriguing plot. Actually, the plots of all Keame's books are intriguing. I enjoyed the blossoming relationship between Mona and Robert. I especially appreciate the way they are up front with each other, it's refreshing. I really enjoy reading about a heroine who is intelligent, attractive and rich. I read to be transported to another place and time. Abigail never dissapoints. My only lament, the book was too short. I finished it in 2 days.

Love Mona Moon
I have really enjoyed this series. This installment is set in the South Eastern part of our beautiful Commonwealth of Kentucky. As always our heroine shows her pluck and cleverness by surviving many challenges and catching those who would do harm to others.
