Great oars for saving yourself on the river
But one of these about a year ago to use on our river trips and it is definitely been helpful because it is completely solid and wood compared to the plastic ones that are flimsy and you can’t use them to push off the side to get away from the trees. Ordered another one this year so that we could have two orders on each side of our raft. Definitely a lot better if you have the right need for it.

Purchased to leverage a very heavy Big Fig bed mattress!
My wife and I purchased a Big Fig bed mattress that is virtually impossible to lift or raise up a corner to properly attach a fitted sheet on same. At first I used a wooden pizza peel to gain some leverage, but the four feet long paddle has proven itself and saved the day yesterday morning after my work phone fell off the headboard and hid itself under the bed. Not the way I like starting my day, but thank the UFO cat gods for this quality product.

5-stars as craft item -- 1 star as actual canoe paddle
See that SUPER FAT paddle in the middle? That's this one. The ones on right and left are ACTUAL paddles you'd want to use while canoeing. This would be *terrible* as an actual canoe paddle (but yes, better than nothing). It's thick, finish is "meh", heavy, and handle is shaped the wrong way for comfortable holding. That is, the oval on a good paddle goes at 90 degrees to blade surface, this one goes parallel and would be uncomfortable to hold for the lower hand. HOWEVER, as a craft item (which is why I bought it), it's just fine. Great value here. It's thick enough to use as a structural member of a project. I bought mine to paint and hang on the wall, and it's just fine for that. So, depending on your use, 1-star or 5-star product. I gave it 4 on average because if used outside the water, no problem. In water? Spend more and don't hate the paddle. Even a plastic paddle is better for actual paddling.

Beautiful oars
I'll probably put 3 coats of marine poly on it. It looks really nice, but seems like the finish could use some extra coats for durability.. A+ on aesthetic appeal!

Nice oar paddle.
Needed some oar paddles for our boat, well made paddles and should last a long time.

Not even a decent wall decoration
I bought this for actual use by my wife and grandchildren in our canoe. I don't think my expectations were unreasonable but this paddle was a great disappointment. I would be embarrassed to use it in public. It is thick, (nearly 3/4") at the edges of the blade where it should have been tapered down to about 1/4". It feels and looks more like a heavy wooden cutting board with a handle. The 'epoxy' tip looks like the end of the paddle was just dipped in brown paint to give the impression of a protective tip. There were small chips in the 'epoxy' that showed bare wood underneath so I know it was not a solid piece of epoxy. I did not take time to weigh it before I wrapped it up for return but I know it is very heavy for its length. Possible someone might be satisfied with it as a wall decoration but not if they were very particular.

I have to admit, I bought this for decor, but the wood grain is beautiful, it's exactly what I wanted!

They arrived cracked. Sold individually and all four were returned.

Had to do a bit of sanding and applied acrylic finish.
