It hones blades to a perfect edge
My steel honing rod wasn’t getting the kitchen knives as sharp as I wanted. I did some research and chose this Wedgek ceramic rod. Night and day: the knives are like razor blades that get the thinnest tomato slices ever— and we all know that tomatoes are a better test than slicing paper.

Works Great!
Saw this on a YouTube video from a Boston cooking teacher who swears by it for her clients learning to hone, and I agree! I’ve struggled with knife angle sfor years on steels (and I’ve worked as a professional cook), but these guides have made that all past history. It’s a no-brainer to follow the guides and get a good consistent edge, And since the ceramic is so hard, it only takes 3-5 strokes per side.Quality is good—guides slide on and off with ease, and the rod cleans well with Comet. Highly recommend if honing rods intimidate you too!

Worth every penny!!!
No guesswork when sharpening. Sweet! Makes sharpening process faster. Makes edge sharper than factory edge. Very impressive! Reading manual is not optional. Looks very easy, but I couldn't figure out how to set angles without reading the manual. Then it is a breeze. My knives are sharper than ever.

It's a nice ceramic stick, and the angled collars are handy.
One of the coil springs, for one of the blue plastic angle guides, had a dis-formed end so it couldn't stay hooked to the other end. I fixed it with some needle-nosed pliers. It's a good ceramic rod with no voids (like another one I have).A nice improvement would be a soft rubber cap on the end of the rod to help keep it from scooting around on the counter top. As it is, the end of the rod is a hard plastic that is hard to keep from sliding around. I'm looking for a rubber cap that will work.It takes some time to develop the skill to keep the same knife edge-to-rod angle as you slide the knife down the rod. I'm pretty good at maintaining the same angle with my right hand, but I have trouble holding a consistent angle with my left hand. It's a good tool for a quick sharpening, like a traditonal steel sharpening rod. It doesn't help you keep a consistent edge angle as well as the Lanksy type sharpening tools.

Simple and effective.
It might strike you as a hack to have slide-on guides to help you position your blade. In practice, however, it is simple and effective. This is a great product. I use it every time I cook.

Perfect
Just to be clear, this is a great sharpening rod and NOT a honing tool. It can replace a sharpening steel and will do a better job. It's a tad aggressive, so don't go overboard and check your edge as you use it to ensure you don't remove any more steel than needed. The included guides are very useful in establishing good muscle memory, and are easily added or removed.Ceramic rods can break if dropped on hard surfaces, so treat the tool with reasonable care.Great product!

Great kitchen tool
I bought this after a good review on Helen Rennie's Youtube channel. It works great. It takes a bit of practice to get the honing procedure down but the angle guide is nice. I've noticed a superior edge on my knives after using this a while. Recommended for all those knife hounds out there.

Perfect ceramic honer
This ceramic honing rod works as promised. I usually keep my knives sharpened but the edges are often a little rough. After just a few feather strokes on each side and all of my knives cut so smoothly I couldn’t believe the difference. Be sure to follow the instructions and watch the website tutorials(they only last a few minutes) and you too will be amazed at the difference. I would highly recommend the seller and product!

Excellent Honing Rod
Saw this on YouTube recommended by several chefs and thought I’d try it.Your knives have to be pre sharpened for this to work but the easy to use angled head makes sure you’re honing at the right angle. My knives have remained really sharp. Delighted with this purchase.

Price & Usability
They teach you how to keep your knives sharp by straightening the bevel or "folding back the burr" at the correct angle. I have some knives that need to be honed at 20 degrees and others at 15 degrees. This teaches me the correct angle. The Ceramic rod seems to do a better job than steel but you have to treat it with care.

Great ceramic honing w angle guides
I'm just a occasional home cook - appreciate the guides to quickly get the correct angle to hone. Using 15°.Only wish they made it a bit longer since w the guide you lose a good inch or 2, also could have a metal core so I can pop it onto my magnetic knife wall rack

Good design ‘a little’ let down by a small imperfection.
I’m very pleased with my rod except for a small misalignment of the non removable plastic tip (see photo). Overall I’d say the quality control appears to have been very good and it’s a shame that a small but to me irritating imperfection has slipped through. I have noted that some rods from other manufacturers have caps which are a significantly greater diameter than the rod. The tiny distance that the cap on mine sticks out I’m totally confident means that the functionality of the tool is unaffected. Moreover I still prefer this design of tip. I think this rod to be far superior to other somewhat similar tools available. I love the brilliantly designed angle guides. I’ve got other angle guides, for use on honing steels and on sharpening plates, from the same manufacturer. I’m a covert to this system having fiddled about with micrometers, rules and an assortment of coins in the past. I’m a perfectionist and such guides suit my approach. The same characteristic makes me likely to find small ‘faults’ irritating. My rod came from the USA to me in the UK. It came very quickly (two days less than Amazon estimated). As what I understand is part of an energy efficiency policy the tool came in a polythene bag but NO BOX! Not a problem for me because I bought it for myself rather than as a gift. The bag itself was reusable in case of return. It had a perforated strip to open it tidily. I APPROVE of this new (to me) type of packaging. I’ve given four stars rather than five because the tip bugs me and I’ve kept going to examine it yet still haven’t really accepted it. Fussy I know but if I wasn’t a perfectionist I’d perhaps not have bought one.
