Mark Twain - Understanding Informational Text Features, Grades 6 - 8

This book has great practice sheets to review text features. My students really like the activities because they're realistic and easily related to the real world, so the learning makes sense. I'm a fan of these books!

I am a BIG fan of this book company. I have all of their "learning station" books, and I enjoy this one too. They don't spread activities unnecessarily over several pages, which is good for those of us who have to make copies of everything. Everything is very well organized and just perfect for my sixth and eighth graders, not too kiddie-looking, but also easy to see. I can't say enough good things about this book and company.

I teach mostly low income...ESL. This book is great because it makes you reflect on everything your students probably don't know or even how to use....like understanding a TABLE OF CONTENTS. I plan on using this the first week of school and then a lesson a week thereafter.

Great resource for teaching text structures.

Nicely formatted, kids liked it, I like it. Great for learning, review, or test preparation. Very helpful for NWEA reading skills.

With Common Core now embraced totally by my school, I used this last year to begin introducing my students to what is coming. Most of them enjoyed the exercises.

I made plenty of anchor charts based on this book.
