A Cyclist's review
I have a pannier that can hold a suit, but the pannier is not waterproof--it comes with a rain cover. However, the water from my tires splashes up on the underside of my pannier and on heavy rain days, the rain soaks through and wets my clothing. My pannier has fabric covering similar to that of a suitcase. So I tried this product, skeptical that it would work. I used two coatings from the get go, making sure to wait 4 hours for each coating to dry. Result: first day of heavy rain (and I mean heavy rain), my clothes were dry and the pannier was in great shape. This worked wonderfully, and I really didn't expect it to. Later, I used it on my soft-shell jacket, and it worked well there too (of course, once I wash it, I'd have to re-apply. I was just curious to see if it would work). So I then used it on my shoe covers and my gloves. Not so great on the gloves, but hey, as long as it worked perfectly on the pannier, that's what I needed.

Works well on motorcycle gear.. beware of it impacting adhesives.
I used this to spray the waterproof liners of my spring motorcycle jacket and pants. The liners were not 100% water proof. I assumed they leaked at the seams somewhere. This spray cured the issue and the liners are now waterproof. All motorcyclists know that riding wet is not fun and this cured my problem at a reasonable price. That is the good. One minor bad. It does say this spray is for tents. So I sprayed it on a fairly new REI Quarterdome tent. The next day after letting it dry, I noticed that all the little velcro and dangly pieces that were glued to the tent fly had fallend off overnight. So this stuff definitely affects some types of adhesives. It did not seem to affect the waterproof seams of the tent. That looks intact. But just fair warning. It did the intended job which is why I gave it 4 stars. But there should be a warning on

Applies easily, works well, reasonably priced.
I used this to water proof my boat cover made from Sunbrella. I have a typical boat cover made by Great Lakes and is Sunbrella material. After about 3 seasons, the cover would not shed water. After a light power wash and let it thoroughly dry, I applied 2 light coats of Scotchgard. The spray is very fine and goes on nicely. Word of warning, pick a day when there is no breeze because even the slightest breeze will blow the spray away and significant waste. After it dried I tested and shed water very well. The spray is supposed to have UV inhibitors unlike the regular Scotchgard. I thought it was reasonably priced. 2 cans covered my 18 foot full cover.

Protectant and great value
Used these on my outdoor furniture. Great protectant. Easy to apply and great protection against Texas heat and rain. If you want to protect expensive outdoor furniture then use this product.

Exactly what our patio set needed
This product is exactly what I needed for our new patio furniture. The set sits in the outside elements (rain, lots of sun, etc) in Florida. Our house also has sun in the backyard for the majority of the day. I know from experience that Scotchgard provides great products and quality, so it was a no-brainer to purchase that brand. It has only been about a month, but I can tell the product helps shield the chairs from water because there's never any sitting water on any of the chairs. I was able to fully cover our 6 patio chairs (front and back) and still have some left in the can. I recommended this product to my mom that is buying replacement cushions for her set.

Required 2 Full Cans for 1 jacket. Underwhelming performance.
I used up one entire can on my Carhartt winter work coat. It became very slightly less absorbent than it had been before I sprayed it. But it still didn't bead water. So I bought a second can, and used that up on the coat too. As you can see in the pic, the coat now partially beads water. But in the dark spots, some of the water still soaks in. Had I known it required $25 of spray to make my old coat water only slightly water resistant, I might have just bought a new coat. But if the spray treatment remains effective for the remainder of the life of the coat, i guess it's worth it? Maybe the spray works better on synthetic materials? I think my coat is mostly cotton, but it was water resistant when new. BTW Do not even think of spraying indoors!!!!!!!! This spray is toxic as heck when wet! I sprayed it outside while wearing a respirator. And it took a several days after each spraying for the chemical smell to fade out, and I had to leave the coat in the garage to dry, so it wouldn't stink up the house.
