Blindsided: A Best Friends to Lovers Standalone

This has to be my favorite book from Amy! In my opinion, Freya and Mac have taken the top spot of all the couples Amy has written! What I loved the most about this book was the friends to lovers trope, which is my all time go to. The way you watch them fall in love with each other is so beautiful and unique as well because Mac already had feelings for Freya for a while! I also really liked how Mac helped Freya with the insecurities she had for herself. There were so many moments that will make you laugh and the spice, of course was on point! If you’re looking for a sports romance with lots of humor and a wonderful friends to lovers story, Blindsided is it!!

This was a good read that made me laugh, smile, swoon, and ugly cry all in one. A Cornwall plus-sized lady(Freya) and A Scottish footballer (Mac) are friends that decide to enter an agreement for one month, that they’d be friends with benefits. Freya is an about to be thirty year old virgin and Mac agrees to teach her the ropes. They insist they can keep this purely platonic, but feelings are catching. The story goes through the motions that you’d expect of a book like this, but that doesn’t mean they don’t hit as hard when you read it. Really cute story with some spice. Would recommend.

Además que las escenas son demasiado tiernas🥰 y con mucho fueguito🔥🔥!!

I saw this book in an email from BookBub and thought I would give it a try because the female lead was plus sized and it sounded cute. Well this book surprised me, it made me laugh and cry and love both leads. Freya is plus sized almost 30 virgin seamstress/designer. Mac is a footballer in London who’s best friend and teammate Roan is engaged to Freya’s best friend and business partner Allie. Mac and Freya are best friends. Freya is on a mission to lose her virginity and have a date for Roan and Allie’s wedding. After getting drunk at a party and flirting with Mac’s enemy Freya confesses her virginity to Mac. He offers to be her first saying it should be with someone who cares for her and not a random. Neither wants it end afterwards and he offers to be her love/sex/dating coach for a month. A tragic event causes Mac to break Freya’s heart. Will he be able to get himself together and win her back? Freya was a great lead character with vulnerabilities everyone can relate to, her character showed so much growth. And Mac did too but took a little longer and with a few kicks in the butt by his friend an grandfather. The bonus episode was great too. Can’t wait to read about Tilly & Roan & Allie!

It is a fun, easy book. The MFC was hilarious and relatable. I wanted to smack the MMC a few times, but he was adorable. The only reason I didn't give this a 4 star is because of the forced breakup 3/4 of the way through, but that's a me thing.

I loved this story. It is such a great story of love and friendship. Freya is a girl who knows herself. Even though she has doubts and insecurities she knows at the core who she is. Mac is the ultimate book boyfriend. Even when saying he doesn't want a relationship or do "Love" he is the most caring partner. He cares for Freya in all ways and friend and lover should. I even came back and read this book again when needing a love recharge. Great story!

It's a great book, although Freya's sexaul naivete in the age of Google almost ruined it. Seemed to unrealistic. But I pushed passed that and enjoyed the story.

Well, you get this delicious friends-to-lovers sports romance… with an H that’s willing to teach his virginal best friend all the ropes when it comes to smexx.*side note* the audiobook is FANTASTIC! It’s duet narration and the narrators’ accent are phenomenal.Freya’s (29/30) a virgin, has had awkward dates and even more awkward kissing encounters. So she basically just gives up on trying. She’s been so focused on her business as a seamstress/clothing store owner that she just doesn’t care to date or try to lose her v to anyone. One thing she does care about? Her best friend Mac.Mac’s (30) been keeping his close friendship with Freya a secret, mostly because Cookie (Freya) doesn’t want anyone to know. If it was up to him, everyone would know about their connection as best friends, but she doesn’t want people to pity her. Why? Well, she’s a thick girl, curves for days, and Mac is… well, he’s a handsome, big, muscular soccer (football) player who’s very experienced, unlike her.When Freya goes on a disastrous OM1 date with the Spanish coffeehouse worker she’s been crushing on for a while, she realizes she needs help (Omg the cheese kiss 😅😬). Mac asks to see how bad it could actually be. And then they kiss. And it’s not bad at all. Not at all 👀 and now Mac sees her as more than just his best friend…What I loved-—Um… the damn chemistry🔥. Good LAWD. Even when they were still pretty much in the friend zone, their connection’s organic and seamless. No need to force anything. When Mac helps her pick out outfits, I could feeeeeel the tension rising. Gahh. I love how we got to see the transition from their friendship phase to more-than-just-friends 👀—the BODY POSITIVITY 👏🏻. Freya’s a thick girl. She’s curvy, and Mac makes her feel beautiful the 👏🏻whole👏🏻time. He even loves her freckles, but he desires her curves, her dimples, her smexxiness 🥵—the OM scenes 😈 sigh. I love when the H becomes a caveman and oh boy… does Mac ever 😅. He almost drags Freya kicking and screaming when she goes on another OM2 date lol, but he asks her to trust him, and she does. So no kicking and screaming (but there was almost a fist fight 💅)—the smexxy times 🔥. Well, duh lol. The fact that Mac convinces Freya to lose her v to him and he proceeds to take it in such a sweet, smexy, yet alpha way gave me goosebumps (the good kind lol). I love when the Hs want to consume the h, and Mac makes sure to taste her as many times as possible 🥵💦😅. Also, I’m tempted to see if it’s REALLY possible to do what they did during the car wash scene 👀😉 #skills—the “Never Have I Ever” scene 😂😂😂 omg bahahaha I was feeling so awkward 🫣lol but at least I leaned something new (thank you Urban Dictionary lol), which brings me to—the laughter/smiling I did. This is a romcom, and I definitely giggled throughout—the side characters. I need to read all the books lol—the angst. Believe it or not, there’s some angst in here (especially when it comes to Mac’s gpa)—the title is the book- yup, it means something—the bonus epilogue🥰. I love that we get to see Mac go crazy lolWhat I didn’t like/wanted more of—Freya’s reaction to Mac needing to leave😒. Man, I wanted to slap her a few times! I was totally in Mac’s corner here 🤷🏻‍♀️. Freya really p’d me offOverall, I loved it ❤️

Had been dragging thru another book by another author and came across this as recommended for me. I’m glad it was! Couldn’t put it down! So tired today but not complaining! It was just what I needed. So fun! Loved the sarcastic humour. Loved the honesty between the ladies. They brought up a point all women should remember- for the sake of themselves and other women. Can’t wait to read the next book about Mac’s sister!

Interesting and gripping story of two friends tuning into something more permanent in life. Mac and Freya are perfect together. Good read.

OMG I loved this story. My first by this author, obviously I’ve jumped a few stories of how their friends found love, but you can safely read out of order. I loved both Mac and Freda, and laughed and cried at times while reading. Such a down to earth, realistic story, with a great storyline.
