General, Organic, and Biological Chemistry: Structures of Life

Every page in this book truly looks like it would in the printed version, except perhaps that the images seem even clearer, more sharp. Navigation is incredibly easy, I don't have to struggle to find a specific page, or to flip from one to the next, the pages all load immediately and the table of contents is a touch away, but also hidden until you need it. I bought the Kindle book so I wouldn't have to carry around a heavy textbook, and because I can still do everything I can do with a printed book (highlight, bookmark, etc) without having to worry about damaging it. The downside is I can't re-sell it, and it does not come with the access code, or anything really, just the book itself.

I loved this book and the explanations it provided for sometimes difficult to understand subjects. However, the rental I received had a lot of notes written in it, underlying and more. I tried to erase some as not to distract my reading and problem solving but it was too much in the end. I wrote the vendor who rented it to me and they apologized. I just hope there are no problems when I return the rental, as I was not responsible for the markings. But I liked the book so much that if I actually had bought it, I might have kept it as a nice reference book.

This was the suggested textbook for an online Intro to Chemistry class I took at my local CC. Although it was not required, I found it extremely helpful in explaining the concepts. It gave additional practice problems that ensured that I knew the material for the test. I got an A in the course. This is not a textbook that you will find a waste of money. Even better is the rental option available--more cost effective.

Contrary to other reviews listed here, I received both the hardcover textbook and the Mastering Chemistry Access Card. Both work fine. My chemistry class just started, so I can't really review the book itself, but I wanted to let other potential buyers know that the title of the product is true to what you'd receive.

My professor is a good teacher but, at times it seems as though she is more worried with covering all the material on time rather then making sure we understand the concept completely. This text book has helped me understand the concepts even better with its detailed description of each concept!!

A very good chemistry textbook with content directed toward health care students. It handles the basic concepts in a clear manner and I really enjoyed that. I actually felt comfortable doing the word problems and applying the formulas to real world situations, like dosages of drugs. Thank you.

Paid for expedited shipping because I needed it for school now. Came a day before the first expected delivery date! I am very happy. It is in perfect condition even has the new book smell! It is a simply written book that is for a survey course, it doesn't attempt to delve into the hardcore organic chemistry, you won't learn about SN2 reactions for example, but if you are in the process of learning chemistry, it will provide a solid background.
