Very Insightful Thought Provoking Information. May Change Your Thinking!
Very insightful information in this book by someone who has worked with many "criminals" through looking at their life span. The news gives shocking accounts of horror. Relatives usually declare this person is a darling. But this counsellor has found dark pasts that make the crimes another exciting opportunity that was presented to someone who thrives on dark excitement more that the specifics of the darkness! Every Counsellor/therapist, judge, attorney should read this book to get a more balanced insight to the criminal mind. At least to entertain another view point. I think there are many valid issues presented through case histories and my personal experiences. I also believe the Social Services Departments could learn from this to better serve their families. Maybe all children would actually be better in a different environment than in their home where no one can manage them! Sad as it is, some kids do thrive in controlled environments that keep them from acquiring too large of a rap sheet as a juvenile!

primer
This book is a great primer for living in a world full of criminals, but also for studying history (a la bought Amazon history books). Samenow shows, via compelling evidence garnered from years of personal study and observation, how there is no out of character crime. Basically, if they did it, they were always capable of doing it. Even if one doesn't agree with Samenow's conclusions, this book is a great tool to get the mind pondering. Also, at the end of the newer version is a helpful way to "attack" and overcome criminal thinking, addiction-behavior, etc.

Full of useful information that may alter your perspective.
Whilst one of the most fascinating books I have read this year It’s a bit of a slog, if you’re interested is there then it will be worthy of the slog. It is undoubtably full of useful information that may alter your perspective of life.

Most of the criminal mind I do not understand and never will but the author does a good job of covering the most important parts that are perhaps not as meant to be understood by lay people or ones that have never been around criminally minded people. There is a great difference and I hope that someday all people will try to gravitate to a way of life that is not criminal in nature.

Criminal Thinking
This is good information, but a criminal act may be a bad choice but it is obvious that something is wrong with the thinking plumbing when a intelligent individual locks himself into a criminal pattern. I have worked with criminal thinkers for well over a quarter century as a therapist not a jailer. Watching Samenow in his videos with inmates will give one a clear message on how Samenow thinks of a criminal as a human and will help one to understand his professional opinion as well. Samenow is a leader in the field however he is not the last word

Very insightful and useful
I work in a jail, and I found the insights provided in this book to be spot on. I can really see how people with a criminal mindset are going to continue to struggle in life, no matter their surroundings, until they choose to change how they approach life.
