Great addition to Lego Dimensions
I loved Jurassic World, so when working out which sets I was gonna get for this game, this was near the top of my list.Owen is great. Minifigure is excellent, nicely detailed and captures his likeness well. In-game he holds up too, Chris Pratt does a fine job and provides Owen with quite a few lines and some amusing interactions (try pairing him with Emmet). He’s also fun in combat, whether you’re slashing enemies with his knife or picking them off with the tranquilizer gun. From a pure utility standpoint, he's the only character in the game to possess the Vine Cut ability, which is required for a couple of collectibles, and he can complete tracking puzzles like the Scooby Doo characters. Overall, he's just very well done. His vehicle is none other than a velociraptor, which is a perfect choice to represent both Jurassic World and Owen himself. The build itself looks pretty cute, with some blue patches thrown in presumably to identify it as Blue. Gameplay-wise, it's a very fun vehicle; it's fast, easy to control, and there's something just inherently awesome about riding around on a dinosaur. Even if you're not riding it, it'll follow you around and fight enemies with you, which is neat and gives some life to it.Then we get to the second character…an ACU Trooper. You know, one of those guys who showed up for a couple of minutes during the film to get eaten. It’s a baffling choice, and considering this is the only source of Jurassic World content in the whole game, they really should’ve picked a better character (Claire being the most obvious candidate). He does have the relatively rare Electricity ability, so he's not completely worthless, but frankly it feels like they dropped the ball here. The Gyrosphere, while not as cool as the velociraptor, is still a decent vehicle, and gets super fast in the later upgrades. That said, the physical toy you get looks a bit...odd. It doesn’t resemble the Gyrosphere very well, looking more like a seat with 2 circles slapped on each side than a full sphere. Compared to the in-game model, which is fairly accurate, it’s a bit of a disappointment. That said, I can understand why it ended up this way, since the need for these models to be rebuildable naturally creates some limitations. In the end, it's still pretty solid.I may as well talk about the JW Adventure World, since currently this pack is the only way to access it. Personally, I found it to be quite satisfactory. The music is stellar, most of the key locations and characters from the film made it in, and there’s enough ground to cover to make it enjoyable to explore. At the same time, since it’s only depicting an island instead of a whole universe, it manages to feel less cramped and messy than some of the other Adventure Worlds. Overall, it’s a fun place to mess around in and does a good job of capturing the source material. If I could, I’d probably give this pack 4.5 stars, because I’m still disappointed by the choice of the ACU Trooper. But I have to choose between 4 and 5, and I’m going with 5, because on the whole it was very satisfying. If you're playing Lego Dimensions and you liked Jurassic World, I'd definitely recommend picking this one up.

A Fun "Necessity"
There are a lot of things I love about Lego Dimensions, really, a lot. Building the sets, having such varied characters, the fun factor, the free roam worlds, lots. But it isn't without it's downsides as well. One of those is that if you want to really complete the game, you need certain other sets, and this is one of them.Furthermore, there aren't many unique characters at the moment, there is overlap on many of the games abilities, more than one character and vehicle can perform certain in game tasks. Unfortunately for the ACU Trooper (and let's ignore all the Why is there an ACU Trooper and not someone, anyone who is named from Jurassic World as the second person), his abilities made him redundant pretty much right away for me, but his Gyrosphere is a necessity; there are Gyrosphere switches in game that can only be opened with this vehicle, no work arounds. The other half of the pack is a big win for me. Owen has many great skills, a unique feel to him, and a lot of fun in his dialogue/voice acting (voiced by the actor, Chris Pratt). The Velociraptor is a fun beast to ride or even turn on that guard feature for. Also, this pack opens up Jurassic World Adventure World for free roam fun. The Adventure Worlds have been a pleasant surprise for me; they have enough content that I generally spend 2 hours per world (Obviously with some variation) performing all these tasks and have enjoyed them more than I enjoyed the main storyline. I spent three hours in my first trip to Jurassic World as there really was that much to see and do. That alone made this set feel more like a DLC rather then a simple add on and makes me glad I got this set.

A pleasant surprise.
Like some others here, I wasn't expecting a whole lot with this set. Honestly I bought it just to complete the collection (yeah, I'm a bit obsessed with LEGO Dimensions) as a fan of the game.I was pleasantly surprised.First, the thing to realize is that this pack, like most every other LEGO Dimensions offerings, uses original cast voices wherever possible. Chris Pratt voices this and I have to say, great job. He has that crack and timbre in his voice that just fits the LEGO game genre. As for Owen's abilities, like other packs there is one fairly rare ability offered. Here it's the ability to cut vines, and he's the only character who can do this. He has stealth as well, which isn't all that rare, though he does also offer tracking which is a good value add. The trooper in the pack can use electricity, which is another quite rare ability. So you get two very rare and one semi-rare ability, which is good given the MSRP.Another point here is that this is the only way you're going to get into the Jurassic World...er, World. And that world is a lot of fun, with decent puzzles and plenty of callouts from the films. So granted, saying it exceeded my expectations isn't saying a lot because they were fairly low...but it's a very good team pack. I'm very happy to have it.
