I followed all the steps included in the kit during the first application, but it only gave me about 40% straightening. My hair was a little more controlled, but still had volume and waves. The next day, we decided to try something different: we applied only Step 2 (the straightening cream) and then used a blow dryer with heat right after applying it. That’s when the results were amazing — my hair turned out 100% straight, smooth, and shiny. So yes, the product works, but it seems like the key is applying heat properly during Step 2. I would recommend it for people who are comfortable experimenting a bit with the process to get the best results.

I've read some negative reviews on this product but I told myself to give it a try. I was very scared at first to try by myself but all in all I am happy and glad of the result. When I got the item sat, the next day I used it right away. It followed the instructions. I have a very sensitive scalp, i was very careful not to direct on my scalp. Just did all the way to my hair. I didn't wait for the usual time (20mins) i did less thinking about how sensitive my hair is. After rinsing and everything I was surprised about the result. See my after pic how straight it is now. I waited at least 24 hrs to rewash my hair. And still very straight. I love the product. And I highly recommended it. It saved me a lot of money. With the price I did my hair so perfectly.

So for some insight, I do have fine “Caucasian” hair, but it dries wavy, I bought the regular strength one and I don’t understand why people don’t like this product? For starters, DO NOT use this if your hair has been bleached, it WILL fall out. I have about 2 inches of bleached hair on my ends that I’ve been slowly trimming off the last few years and it 100% turned gummy and stretchy and broke off. Also, use the protective serum on your scalp, it did burn me a little in the places I missed. Step 6 and 7 can be skipped. Step 7 is a very thick cream that made my hair feel disgusting, almost like I poured candle wax all over my hair. It took a couple of washes to get it out. My hair didn’t dry 100% straight but it did dry 98% straight which is a huge deal! I can finally just shower and brush my hair and let it air dry without having to blow dry and straighten it. I definitely recommend this product, however if you have ethnic, very coarse curly hair you may need a higher strength and not the regular, you just have to be very careful using it. *****EDIT***** So it’s been almost 3 months since I purchased this and I have to say that it did not work for a long time, maybe the first three or four washes it would dry semi straight, after that it went completely back to drying wavy/curly. it made my hair feel very dry and brittle. Also no matter how many times I would brush my hair it would knot up. I feel like it did a lot of damage and I won’t be purchasing it again.

Over the years, I have tried many relaxers with crying results. Two common, unacceptable outcomes were, breakage and uneven relaxing. When ever I would use this brand, more expensive than some, it relaxed my hair evenly and I could go a long time between relaxers because there was no breakage. With this brand, my hair got longer due to no breakage. Then, I decided to go cheap again and my hair started breaking and became a mess! I decided to just stick with what works and I keep this in subscriber and save. I don't know why this works so well for my hair but it really does! Right now, I'm at 8 weeks between relaxers and my hair still feels soft and heathy and it's holding length instead of breaking. If the gray wasn't going wild, I would wait even longer to relax

Relaxers worked on my hair fine until I started having kids. After that, my hormones would not allow my hair to take a relaxer. I was natural for about 10 years due to this and my hair is so long and thick it would just take forever to do my hair so I decided to try a relaxer again for convenience. I went with Optimum after reading the reviews. The first time I relaxed all of my natural hair and it came out amazing! This time I did a touch up on my roots. It's been 3 months since I relaxed all of my natural hair and it still came out great! I'm VERY happy with the results and that may hair is taking a relaxer again :D

I have been using this brand for years. It's my favorite perm for my hair texture. So glad I was able to get it.

This worked pretty good. I have grey hair that hasn’t been colored for years and it left a yellow tinge on my hair. And a sort of sticky film. I rinsed and rinsed it and washed it twice. Probably won’t purchase again. Will search for another.

I did a bunch of research on all the relaxers I could find on amazon and this one took the top option. I looked for hours at other reviews on other products etc. and this one not only had the most reviews but a good mix of all types of reviews. I also watched a bunch of videos on YouTube before starting this process. The product itself got to me super fast, instructions were easy to follow, and the steps were clearly labeled and if you follow them to a 'T' it will work for you. I didn't experience any burning until washing out and only for a second. As soon as you use the shampoo, it stoped. my hair doesn't feel fry or brittle, I do recommend a mask with protein of some sort after your first two shampoos. (Shampoo, protein treatment/mask then another shampoo) and then continue with the rest of the steps provided. Over all, I wish the gloves were better quality because they slip and slide on your hands while using product I ended up changing them for better ones, I had a little bit of product left over which I always see as a good sign.But it was over all and great easy process, no pain and I am defiantly repurchasing when needed.
