This is a good review of the Alaskan lace knitting industry with much interesting background information, and the practical instructions are excellent.

A truly lovely book

Interesting social history with photographs. The patterns adapting the traditional stitches could have been more extensive and possibly shown in colour.

This book gives many opprtunities for knitting the typical lace knitting from this part of the world along with fascinating detail about the people and places from which it derives. The fine wools used, the charts and the types of stitches demand those with a fair amount of experience but are very satisfying and give excellent results.
