Great amp, best sound i have heard for under a grand.
Honestly this is my first stereo tube amp, as a guitar player i have played many many tube amps vs solid state. So in that capacity i have always preferred tube to SS. At 3.5 watts i was skeptical at how this would shine. My current amp, before this one, was i an Akai AA-1175 from 1978. It is a true gem as solid state goes. 75 watt dual mono amp and one of the best sounding amps that i have ever listened to. I am not going to argue that its the best amp out there, but its a good one. But hands down this little tube amps sounds better, even the wife can hear the difference. While no where near as loud as the Akai, it sounds better and its loud enough to fill up my living room with sound. The bass is tight, mids are smooth and treble has a bell like tonal quality. I love this little amp enough to put my solid state in the closet. I have listened to it for about 4 hours now and everything i throw at it sounds amazing. I have done pop, rock, jazz, rap, country i mean i really put it through its paces. But to be fair i am running a pair of infinity overture 1 bookshelf speakers, which have an 8 inch powered sub. So bass may not be as strong with a non powered speaker, but i did have to turn the bass knob on the speaker down because the bass was to heavy.Over all i am very happy with this amp, i mean i love it. For 210 bucks its a great amp.For the guy that says it gets to hot, i dont see that at all. I mean its a tube amp so the tubes get hot, but its not gonna heat up room or anything.

Twin Tube Appj PA 1501A Throws Too Much Heat, I Prefer the Three-Tube APPJ PA0901A
After using the APPJ PA0901A (the three tube model) for several months, I purchased this newer twin tube model for a second location. The older three tube PA0901A is excellent and runs warm to the touch. The transformer tops are about 98-103 degrees fahrenheit after several hours. The new twin tube APPJ PA1501A sounds and looks great, but it gives off much more heat. The twin tubes run very hot and the metal chassis heats to about 112-118 degrees. It is too hot for my desk. I returned it for the three tube model.

Fun amp, but you may never be able to find suitable replacement tubes
I'm enjoying this for a first tube amp. The sound is definitely bright and trebley on large speakers, but it sounds pretty nice with my Klipsch Heresy KP-201s. It pushes to higher levels than you'd expect before distorting very badly. It also likes to be driven with a tube amp, it hit distortion a lot faster when I had my DAC plugged right into it.Build quality is nice, too. The case feels solid to the touch and it's nice and heavy. The volume knob and switch, the two most common points of contact, both feel pretty nice. It's surprising what they could do for $200.The use of 6AD10 tubes is pretty cool, but not very useful. It's a tube design that was come up with in order to simplify tube electronics back in the day, it does the job of multiple tubes in one big fat tube. But it doesn't seem that they're made anymore, and there isn't much information out there about whether any suitable equivalents exist. I would have bought the three-tube one if I'd known that, it seems like its tubes are much easier to find.I'm enjoying it for now, but I do wonder what will happen when the tubes need replacing.

Great amp, no complaints here
Great little amp. Used with a few different speakers over the past year or so. Currently have on my work desktop with a pair of fostex full range driver loaded cabs. Amp is simple, dead quiet and attractive. Only 3.5 watts but it makes most efficient speakers sing. My current set is really great at low or high volume. Don't get to crank it much in my office. It does get a little warm but not dangerously so. For the money I can't think of a better way to get into tube amps.

Sweet amp for office/desktop system
Got this little gem off Massdrop for my home office/desktop sound system, replacing a TA-2020 based amp. I'm extremely happy with the sound, driving a pair of Buschorn MkII/Fostex FE83's or Stax SR Lambdas (via SRD-7 adapter). Input is a SMSL SD-793 DAC & optical input from my iMac. The stock tubes (GE?) are pretty sweet, with smooth mids and a surprising amount of bass. There aren't a lot of different kinds of NOS tubes available, but what I could find was pretty cheap... I got a matched set of RCA's for $6 each. It will be interesting to compare the tubes after they burn in.The amp doesn't lack for power in my small home office, capable of driving both the Fostex's and the Stax beyond what I would consider 'loud' listening levels! It gets pretty warm to the touch, but not enough to burn anything. I haven't turned it off yet, except to change tubes.2021/12 update: reduced to two stars. this original unit died (burned out regulator in the power supply) after about a year. I liked it enough to purchase a replacement, which lasted 3 years and then died of the same failure. I then purchased a third unit which failed the second time I turned it on. Got a refund and then a fourth unit which lasted 2 weeks before developing severe distortion. Got a second refund, and now considering a more reliable office amp.

Simple, Clean, Pure
This is a nice little amp, perfect for the home office or bedroom.Minimalistic and simple controls(on/off volume), this amp is great for those who enjoy music without knob tweaking the sound.Small footprint, clean and warm sound, it performs. You will need a NEMA 5-15 power cord and banana jacks for your speaker wires. Easy to set up. Enjoy.

Tube amps need only apply....
My first experience with tube amps goes back to a pair of Golden Tube SE40s used in monoblock mode that blew away a $6000 solid state unit at a third of he cost. With the advent of more efficient speakers, it is a foregone conclusion that low powered amplifiers can produce gorgeous music if tuned correctly. After 5 hours of use....This amp is pretty credible and though it can't be expected to recreate subsonic AV acoustical effects, it possesses solid musicality and holds its own on rendering nice vocals and small to medium ensembles. Very well built. I will be doing some tube swapping soon enough and considering its cost it is a sweet deal..Incidentally, I also own a pair of ASL wave 8s heavily modded and at 8 WPC they are so good that unlike the Golden Tubes they are still in my stable.

Audiophile bargain
This little thing is a gem. Pair with high sensitivity speakers for excellent bang-for-the-buck performance.
