"Self-Inquiry" made Simple
This is a more moderate and generalized approach to the method of "Self-Enquiry". This book is presented in very simplistic and understandable terms. It is not as cryptic but more aligned with the practicalities of life. The author contends that daily deep meditation is the prescription for identifying with the "witness" or the "silence" within which is the gateway to "self realization". The author states that the broad applications of the various methods of yoga are more likely to bring results than a narrowly focused traditional view that may be only applicable to the more highly spiritual aspirant. I would highly recommend this book.

Thank goodness for some critical thinking
For thousands of years the subject of Spirituality has been steeped in superstition and dogma. Yogani, in Self-Inquiry, and all of his other writings, is clear and no-nonsense about the practices of Yoga. I have studied the subject of Enlightenment for over 30 years and Yogani is one of the only people I have come across to offer his guidance, obviously drawn from first hand experience, in a way that both supports us on our Path as well encouraging each seeker to know for themselves the Truth. He states very clearly that each must find it within. Very good for those who know, in the end, we must be accountable to only ourselves and the inner teacher. Thanks Yogani for your diligence and caring. Self-Inquiry - Dawn of the Witness and the End of Suffering

Wonderful little booklet on an aspect of yoga
If you are new to yoga, better to start with the Deep Meditation booklet, or Advanced Yoga Practices, or the main lessons at [...], all by the same author, Yogani. If you are familiar with yoga, particularly meditation, this little booklet is wonderful. It covers the subject of vedanda / advaita. This involves phenomena and approaches to what for many are the final steps preceeding Enlightenment. It won't make much sense for new yogis and yoginis.

All of the books in series that I've read so far (approx. six titles), are exceptionally good.
Detailed review under "Spinal Breathing Pranayama" title applies to this, as well. Excellent explanations of technique, reasons for doing a particular practice, and how to handle possible difficulties along the way.

Great book on meditation.
Need to read it in depth to get the benefit out to it but well worth the effort. Written by an a person who has accomplished the art of meditation.

Very Interesting
I have read other books in the AYP series and they are all great. This one was particularly helpful to me as I have just started learning to meditate. For anyone new to meditation it would be beneficial to read this. It makes sense of a lot of inner thoughts and feelings I have been experiencing since beginning yoga practice and meditation. The style of writing is unique - a lovely blend of personal relation and universal spiritual concepts. I often felt like Yogani was speaking directly to me and I definitely found this book at the right time. If you are experiencing blocks or inner experiences you do not understand read this book, it will certainly help you.

The end of mental suffering
Suffering can be felt on many different levels... personal sufferings and feeling the suffering of others. This can be torture and with no end in sight. This book will be the guiding lantern outside of this darkness. But one cannot only read the words and then expect to end suffering... a mistake that I have made many times. It is now time for me to follow the instructions of the wiser ones (i.e. become the witness through the practice of deep meditation) and experience mental peace for myself :) Highly recommended for those who are ready to take the journey to inner peace and harmony!

Where the Fluff Meets the Clouds?
Hmm... perhaps this book isn't on my "wavelength" but I was kind of expecting a practical in depth book about self-enquiry based on the grandiose title - I wasn't too far into the book when I realised rather than being a practical "where the rubber meets the road" book, this seemed more "where the fluff meets the clouds and fairy dust". Perhaps a bit unfair as I ended up skipping through the book - it just seemed far too "blah blah blah" initially - maybe I threw the baby out with the bath water! Maybe I had an unrealistic expectation of "it does what it says on the can". Don't know - but from what I read, it's not too obvious what value this book might provide to anyone.
