Ravensburger The Quest for El Dorado: The Golden Temples Adventure Family Game for Ages 10 & Up

Got this game/expansion to play and mix in with the base 1st edition El Dorado race game. Alone, this is still a fun pick up and deliver game with same race elements and deck building but racing to the temple and then grabbing its riches in one adventure is why I picked up. Great game either way.

This is a great game! Bought it as a gift to my husband and he enjoyed it. The package arrived surprisingly fast. The game came with no damages and I got every game piece, nothing was missing. The instructions for this game seems to omit some rules, but we decided to make up our own rules with no problem. This game is not really that hard to play. It’ll take longer when you play it for the first time because there’re lots of rules to remember. But that’s about it, the following rounds are all fun and game! There are definitely some strategies in this game. It’s not a pointless game. You need to strategize what card you should buy/discard. All in all, love it!

Underrated, but a lot of fun! Easy to learn and has always been a good time!

I bought this several years ago for my game collection. My gaming group and I just got around to opening it and playing it last night. I’m really upset because there’s multiple missing pieces and it appears that some of the cardboard pieces were punched incorrectly so they would not fit together all in all the game is not playable. I’m not very happy because I can’t return it now because it’s past the point of that do not recommend

I've just opened the box and gone through the items. the components are not boxed well at all; the starting tile doesn't even fit in the box properly; the rules were bent up. I haven't played this version but I like the original.

This is a fun game most challenging with more players

Haven't played it yet, but it looks great! My son is a fan of the movie, so we wanted to find a game and books for him about El Dorado too!!

There are two sets of cards included: a basic set that has more of the basic starting cards from the base game and the new expansion cards. The starting cards are in English, alright, but the expansion ones are in German only.

I have a few games from Reiner Knizia and this could be my favourite. It is essentially a race game, but a race determined by building a deck of cards, each one of which allows you to move onto a specific terrain. The board is entirely modular so you get many different variations to complete. Pretty simple to teach and a pre set up of the board and your off. Another excellent design from the master of family games.

Great game addition to the base game of eldorado. It gives a bit of a different experience since you have to go “back and forth”, but if played with the base game it’s a lot of fun! It’s also enjoyable if played by itself, but then I would reccomend more than 2 players. 2 players only takes away from the “bottle neck” which this expansion needs to have an interesting challenge.

Ich war erschrocken über die vielen schlechten Rezensionen. Habe mir darum auf Youtube das Video mit Rezension und Let's Play von Hunter&Cron angesehen und hatte dann sofort Lust , es zu spielen. Aufgebaut ist es innerhalb von maximal 10 Minuten, zu zweit in 5 Minuten! Die schlechten Rezensionen scheinen auf einem ersten Spiel ohne wiederholtem Versuch zu basieren. Sowas ist aber normal und ist beim zweiten Aufbauen schon nicht mehr der Fall. Auch liegen der Anleitung fertige Vorlagen/Pläne als Vorschläge zum Aufbauen bereit. Man kann es aber auch "frei Schnauze" aufbauen, wie es einem beliebt, dadurch ist jede Partie ein neues Manöver und es wird auch nach mehreren Partien nicht langweilig. Andere beklagten auch, dass es zu schwer sei, dabei würde ich es noch als gehobenes Familienspiel einstufen, dass auch 10 jährige sicherlich begreifen werden. Wer bis dahin nur MauMau und Monopoly gespielt hat, dem ist der Mechanismus dieses Spiels bestimmt unbekannt und erscheint jenen anfangs sicherlich schwierig. Aber wer bspw. Dominion und andere Deckbuilder kennt, dem ist das Spielprinzip sehr schnell klar. Auch die Familie meines Mannes, die keine Kennerspiele spielt, sondern eher einfache Spiele, hat es mit einer schnellen Einführung und raschen Start schnell verstanden und nach bereits 2 Zügen kam bei ihnen der Aha-Effekt. Nicht nur mir, auch ihnen hat das SPiel sehr sehr gut gefallen und hätten sie mehr Zeit gehabt, hätten wir direkt eine zweite Partie begonnen. Die Stunde Spielzeit, die es braucht, vergeht wie im Flug. Und das Spiel ist auch sehr gut ausbalanciert; selbst, wenn es den Eindruck erweckt, dass einer hinten liegt, ist es am Ende immer sehr knapp. Durch das ansprechende Design, die schnell begreifbare Mechanik des Spiels, aber auch die Variantenvielfalt des Spielplans machen dieses Spiel für mich zum neuen Lieblingsspiel in meiner Sammlung! Jedem sei also ans Herz gelegt, erst die Rezension bei Youtube anzuschauen und dann zu urteilen. Die abgegebenen schlechten Bewertungen erachte ich als nicht haltbar. Hier hat der Verlag seine Spiele wohl an die "falschen" verschenkt, da diese scheinbar "Wenigspieler" sind.

Gutes Spiel was Spass macht

They shipped me the German version when I wanted the English version. All images showed the cards were in English. Im disappointed. I can’t even play it. I hope they contact me to resolve this
