Really Nice Minimalist Running Shoes for People Who Are New to Minimalist Shoes
These are my second pair of minimalist running shoes. My first was a pair of vivobarefoot running sandals. While I still ike the vivobarefoot sandals, I really like these XIANV shoes too. What I really like about these shoes is that they are very lightweight. When I wear them, it feels like I'm not wearing anything. This is pretty much what I want from a minimalist shoe. And then another good thing is that they really don't look bad. Unlike Vibram Five Fingers or my Vivobarefoot sandals, they don't look too out of the ordinary. It's nice to have a minimalist shoe that doesn't look weird. This shoe is also very good for beginners who don't yet have barefoot gait. What I mean by "barefoot gait" is that you strike primarily with the heel instead of the pad. This is how most people walk. But if you wear a very minimalist shoe, heel striking hurts and you will have to pad strike right away. These XIANVs have enough padding on the heel that you can walk with a heel striking gait and it won't hurt. These shoes do run a bit large. I wear a size 12 and the largest size they had was 11.5, but I ordered it anyway thinking I could return it if it doesn't fit. What actually came was a size EU 47 shoe, which is actually a tad larger than my euro size, which is a EU 46. Anyway the shoe fits fine, maybe a little big, but certainly not too big.I have walked and jogged in this shoe and had a good experience. The soles on these shoes look thick enough that they will last a long time. I'm looking forward to many nice runs with these shoes. They look good and are very comfortable to wear. Plus they don't cost an arm and a leg like so many of these types of shoes. No way am I paying $80-$120 for a pair of minimalist running shoes. These shoes work just fine for a very affordable price. I am very appreciative that these shoes exist because I'm tired of the big brands gouging people in this niche.

Decent and Affordable
I've been very hesitant to buy running shoes (or shoes in general) online since I'm a bit picky. However, given the price and the return policy I figured why not give it a go. Also, I don't go trail running that often, so wanted trail shoes that weren't ultra expensive.Pros of these shoes are their lightweight, easy on/off, and comfort on trails. I got them on a Thursday, did a road shake out that evening, then a proper trail run with my running group on Sunday. I was able to keep up with my usual pack without slipping as much and felt more confident (probably mental as previously I ran trails with standard running shoes). I do like how you don't need to tie them every time and they slip on and off with ease (but with some basic planned effort so they don't just fall off).Cons are they aren't high performance trail shoes and they run a bit small. No one will mistake these for Hoka. Then again, you aren't paying Hoka prices. As for sizing, I wear a 7.5 and usually have a little breathing room up front. These fit snug. So, they don't run so small that I needed to get a larger size, but I don't have that little breathing room.

Price is right to try something interesting
I have been interested in trying a minimalist shoe for quite some time but given the price of shoes, trying can be risky. The affordability of this shoe was enough to make me give it a go. I usually purchase running shoes a half size larger which is what I did with this shoe. The toe box is roomy but still allows the use of a thick wool sock, although if your foot is wide, you may even need a full size larger.I took the shoes on a 3 mile test run and what I noticed was that my feet felt natural, almost as if I was barefoot but not quite.I’ve been struggling with some arch pain and did not have any after using these shoes — although to be fair that could just be because it was the first time out.One negative was that my feet got really sweaty during the run so they don’t breathe as well as I would like.

First barefoot/minimalist shoes and they are great
I am new to the whole barefoot or minimalist shoes. I was just looking for a pair of simple, light shoes to walk the trail on the weekends with my wife. I have to say I couldn't be happier with these shoes. I have flat and wide feet and these shoes support my feet perfectly. They feel very natural on my feet. The top material is soft and breathable. The sole is very sturdy and prevents me from feeling the rocks or unpaved roads and nature trails. But they are contoured to my feet that it feels like I am wearing socks...super comfortable, lightweight, protective socks. These have became my favorite pair of shoes for hiking or walking around the house or anywhere. They are wide in the front and fit true to size. I am starting to like barefoot/minimalist shoes.

Fit small but comfortable and great to run in!
The product fits a bit small but I sort of like the tightness of the shoe on my bare feet. The shoes are quite comfortable to wear and to run in. I would never though to run in sneakers without socks but this pair shoes changed my mindset completely. Now I’m actually more motivated to go outside and run in the morning. Great product, would purchase more once this pair starts to worn out.

Great fit out of the box
I have wide feet as well as a tailors bunion on my pinky toe, combined with a normal, non wide heel. This makes finding shoes difficult that have a wide enough toe box without causing my blisters from my heel sliding around. This are comfortable out of the box. They have some flex like most barefoot shoes but they do have some substantial grip and overall structure.I think they look like a normal shoe, in fact I have been wearing them around as normal shoes to ensure they don’t rub, pinch or slip around.A very well made shoe at a fair price. I am very pleased with them. I picked green since I run and walk with these in the grass and trails and figured they would look nicer longer.

Good simple convenient shoes to walk and run in.
Shoes fit well, looks good too! Can’t complain about its functionality.Perhaps the sole could be a little thicker but that’s just a personal preference. Where the toes are, a few of the spots are grey on one foot and black on the other - maybe it’s a design choice, or is it discolored? One shoe came in a bag and the other was unwrapped, but both were in great condition.
