The Nuttery NC0010 Geohouse Compact Peanut/Sunflower Seed Feeder

Great feeder! Very well built. Small to medium size birds can easily access the food as the wire grid is nice and thick with large holes. Birds love this feeder. Safe too as the grid is easy for the birds to navigate. I've tried a lot of different feeders and this is one is a winner.With a few mods it is an absolute squirrel beater! First time I put it out, the squirrels worked it over. They attacked two places -- the handle that locks the feeder after you fill it and they also chewed on the plastic bottom thru the wire on the base. A small, easy to remove carabiner reinforced the lock so that it can't be beat even if they lever it open. As to the bottom, I put a 5 1/4 inch square of metal (I used stainless steel from the local hardware store) along with a plastic washer (to leave some space between the wire grid and the metal bottom) and bolted it to the feeder via the existing 3/8 inch threaded hole on the feeder using a 3/4 inch long 3/8th bolt and fender washer. Now I can not only enjoy watching the birds feed, but laugh at the squirrels as they get frustrated and give up.I liked this feeder so much, I bought two. Wonderful product and a great value given the quality construction.

I reviewed this feeder back in 2015 when I bought 2. After adding a bottom plate, a double lock and using a baffle to keep the squirrels out, they have lasted 6 years with no problems. Please see attached picture. They are a bit rusty (I live near the ocean so they get wet a lot), so I decided to get another one so I can take the originals out of the rotation and give them a good paint job. They may appear to be a bit pricey, but they are so well built they will last. Highly recommended!

Oh, man. I really wanted to like this feeder because it was cute and I love the build quality. Unfortunately, I suspect the feeder openings seem a bit small. I did see a chickadee squeeze in there, but that was it.

This feeder is very well made. It does slow down the bully birds like European starlings, but they can still get their heads in at times. It does stop the squirrels.
