VANSONVANSON Premium Quality Scratchplate Pickguard DIRECT FIT for USA, MEX Fender, Stratocaster, Strat, SSS (3 Ply, Brown Tort (T/W/B/W))

Excellent quality and very good value (the actual Fender-branded version is advertised at about three times the price). Replaced the cheap single-ply plain white pickguard which really let my otherwise beautiful Fiesta Red Fender Classic 50s Stratocaster down. This 3 ply pearl guard has transformed the guitar's appearance for just a few quid.One word of warning if you have no experience of fiddling about inside guitars: To fit this item you do have to be prepared to remove all the pickups, switches and potentiometers from the old one and fit them to this replacement. By no means a difficult task, but I thought I'd mention it for the benefit of any beginners who might not be aware that on a Strat the back of the pickguard is also the mounting plate for all the electrics as well.

The bridge cut out was 2mm too narrow for my fender strat bridge. I filed it out myself but this was a bit disappointing. Also one of the screw holes didn't align at all, and another one required the screw to be entered at an angle. the other 9 screws fit perfectly, and the pickup holes were perfect too. The foil backing is a nice touch, and the finish is high quality. The colour is a really nice creamy tone, and my guitar looks absolutely gorgeous, I have received several compliments from friends.Very disappointed about the shoddy alignment, but it looks fabulous on my guitar regardless.

Can't say whether it's a "direct fit" for the guitars mentioned because this was to replace a horrible scratchplate that came with an electric 12 string kit guitar. As expected it needed work to make it fit but quality was good and I have no complaints. The small holes near the holes for the pots were useful as they allowed the lugs on the mini pots supplied with the kit to seat properly on the plate.

An accurately cut good solid 2.5mm pick guard with aluminium foil screening that extends below all three pickups. I particularly like that the pickup cut outs are cut a little oversize, so the pickups will sit level on their mountings. There is no danger of them tilting because they are binding on the cut out. Good value for money.

This scratchplate was as advertised and a near perfect fit from the packet. Easy to fit with only a couple of new holes to align with existing ones. 10 minutes well spent. My red strat looks a lot better for the upgade. Thank you for your speedy service.

Really nice quality - it took the place of a genuine white Fender US pickguard, and quality is really equivalent.1 mm misalignement on 2 or 3 holes, on my '93 Mexican Strat, but screws went in nevertheless.I had to file 1mm in the vibrato space as the distance between the neck and the vibrato space was a little too short.

I have definatly seen better cut versions. A fair few jagged edges. Small gouge around the pickups.

Looks pretty fantastic in person for such little cost, the only minor gripe I have is that there was a small chip between the neck and middle pickups positions.
