Paper was folded and creased
Paper quality was what I wanted to stamp on for a junk journal. Value for the money 👎 because A lot will be garbage with all the deep creases and folded in half from shipping. It came in a large envelope but it was folded. No cardboard inside so the mailman doesn’t jam it in my mailbox and no Do Not Bend. Whoever packaged this didn’t think about transport. It was folded with deep creases which makes it 1/2 unusable. Will not buy again!! This is delicate paper who could be so stupid to package it this way. 😼

pretty thick comparing to other calligraphy paper
I bought this paper because of my teacher's recommendation, so I hurried in, ordered it, and got it in a day. The paper is a little off white, giving you the ancient feel, pretty thick comparing to other calligraphy paper, good quality. It's a little bit bigger than the size of a calligraphy book or sketch book, perfect size for practicing calligraphy or small sumi painting. The paper is half ripe and half raw, so good for using ink (not ink stick though unless you are doing sumi or xie yi painting, for its absorbent effect). The paper remains very smooth after the ink gets dry (some paper got wrinkles after ink dried ) and make my calligraphy look better than it is (I really like that). I would like to try a small sumi painting in a couple of days, I am sure it will turn out pretty good too. Good quality, highly recommended.

No.
The product is okay. Very disappointed at how it arrived. Wrinkly, it had creases. It's a delicate paper and it is just wrapped in plastic no hard backing or anything to protect it.I would not buy this from Amazon, it's too delicate, it gets treated like a ream of paper just thrown in a box with other items. Just no a wast of money and very frustrating.

Takes ink well.
The paper arrived folded over. Since the fold was a roll rather than a crease, I ironed them flat. I like the paper - even though it's remarkably thin it takes the ink well and it's easy to work with. Yes, I recommend it. Don't be dissuaded by the fold-over, just iron out the stack of pages - no steam and do it quickly.

Good paper, works best with ink stone and not india ink
It is extremely thin paper! I knew that going in but it's really frail and can be easily bent or damaged, so it's best to leave the sheets in the wrapper someplace flat. In this style, you want to make one brush stroke ideally or very lightly. It cannot hold western ink heavily, so an ink stone is recommended.I really love the texture of the paper, it's absolutely beautiful.

Arrived Crumpled!
I cannot tell you how the absorbency was because I returned this item.Whoever feels that it’s OK to put a package of totally crumpled paper in a box, needs to learn how disappointing and unacceptable that is. There were 2 or 3 major bends in the package of paper that I imagine would not be repairable unless someone tried to iron them out. My advice is to not buy this product.

Good quality Xuan paper
I used this to practice Chinese calligraphy and found out the paper has good quality and holds the ink pretty well.By the way, your ink can not be too watery, as any Xuan paper will not be able to hold watery ink.

Great Xuan Paper for Calligraphy Practices
Received paper yesterday and did some practice with it today. Love the feel of the paper, with proper amount of ink in MaoBi, ink does not over bleed or pool on the paper. The paper is smooth enough to give my MaoBi a good life out it, and at the same time, it has enough resistance for proper stroke during practice. I am just starting to re-acquaint myself with Chinese calligraphy, I think this is a great type of xuan paper for practices.

My new favourite paper for prints!
I love this paper. I bought it for lino/block printing, and it just looks amazing. It has a texture on one side which I think looks really nice with the prints. Very rustic! I took one picture with light on it,and one with light behind it so you can see the texture and amount of transparency.
