Quality Kitchen Timer
A quality timer for the kitchen. It has a built-in magnet that makes it handy to place this either on the stove or the refrigerator.

Stainless steel matches our refrigerator
We bought two. They’re easy to use and easy to hear the ringing Since they’re magnetic we stick them on the refrigerator. Stainless steel There’s no having to charge them up.

Perfect for my needs
I received my Searon Kitchen Timer July 2, 2024. Today is July 21, 2024. I LOVE it.! It works very well. The magnet holds well to my frig. and the Stainless Steel front and size is perfect and attractive. It's soooo easy to use. The ringer sometimes startles me because it sounds like an alarm clock but I'm getting used to it. The low price is well worth it! Previous review: This kitchen timer is perfect for me: Inexpensive, doesn't need a battery, stainless steel, has a magnet on the back. Ringer volume is loud enough to hear if I'm in another room as long as I'm on the same floor in the house, ringer doesn't ring quite long enough (3-4 seconds) but sufficient to catch my attention. To activate the ringer you just have to wind the knob all the way around to the 60 minute mark, then adjust the knob backwards to the minutes you want. Simple instructions enclosed. Very easy!

Hidden in plain sight!
I needed a replacement timer, so just chose one. Have only used it once so far. Worked fine. One feature about this one I did not know when purchased, is it has a magnetic component to it, so I placed it on the side of the refrigerator instead of on a shelf in a cupboard or ??. Then the day I was looking for it --- (had already put something in the oven) and then could not find the timer for a while. Had forgotten its magnetic feature (been many years since I needed a replacement timer) and it took me a while to remember its new home was the side of the refrigerator. Had to laugh about that.

9-1/2 months: It has quit. Never dropped, never abused. Look elsewhere!
-Tested accuracy at times from 2 minutes to 59 minutes: accurate within + or - 15 seconds (good as could do w/ 1 minute dial intervals. I could set the timer to within ~1/2 minute (for example, could set it 5-1/2 mins (with accuracy ~1/4 minute: impressive for a wind-up timer. -No battery - Didn't want battery: saw reviews for battery operated timers: SHORT battery life. Did not want that nuisance & expense. -Bell - Loud enough to hear in the adjoining room no problem. -Magnet - strong enough to hold on the smooth metal door of my fridge. Does not come off or shift around when opening the fridge door. Back of timer has soft rubber(?) bumpers each corner (protect fridge from scratches). One reviewer wanted stronger magnet grip - he filed down the bumpers to lessen the spacing from the fridge surface. (You must hold the base of the timer with your hand while you set it - magnet is not strong enough to allow you to set the timer without holding it.) -Con: Hard to read. Paint the setting mark on the dial handle white. As it is manufactured (black indent mark on a black handle). -All-in-all, at the 30 day mark, a good product at a good price. Hope it lasts! 5-month update: Still same opinion. Pleased to say I have not dropped it; it has not fallen off fridge door. Still would buy again and still recommend. 9-1/2 month update Well, it failed today. Never been dropped, never abused in any way -- it just quit. No longer rings and doesn't feel right when winding. I expected better longevity than this for my money! Can no longer recommend; look elsewhere!

Rings Loudly Enough but the Ring Is Short Lived
This timer is stable and runs mechanically without a battery. The ring is loud enough to hear in the same room BUT NOT LOUD ENOUGH to hear in the next room as one or more reviewers have said. Further, it only rings for about 10 seconds. If you are in the next room or down the hall when it goes off, then you would not hear it and it would stop ringing by the time you walked into the room again. I suspect young folks use their cell phone alarms and time their food that way. However, if one is older and used to timers but unable to recall how to set the oven timer not being used for said oven, then this would be a good option if one plans to sit in the room with the timer or if one takes the timer with you. Alas, I intend to walk about so I will be returning this timer. What happened to the old time mechanical timers that rang until the user turned it off. Instead I am keeping a portable digital timer and will also learn how to set my iphone timer. One would use such a timer if one were cooking or timing more than one thing at a time with different times for different oven temperatures and sitting in the same room. How often does that happen?
