Easy to use
This hair color was easy to use. I bought the dark blonde color and added gray magic which helps my hair retain the color, since I have very fine hair. The color came out much darker. I thought it would lighten after a week or so. However, the color didn't lighten at all, until I was ready to color my roots, 5 weeks later! I have not had problems with using Gray Magic in hair color before, so have to believe it was Schwarzkopf, as other reviewers have stated. Next time I will go down a shade and see if I can get dark blonde.

Did NOT cover any gray root regrowth AT ALL.
I hunted down a hairstylist who exclusively uses Schwarzkopf hair product in her salon. I have always loved the blonde highlights because of the lift level it provides, while doing minimal hair damage. The salon formulation for blondes is bright, and looks great. However......with the mandatory stay at home orders going on, I can’t see my stylist for a touch-up, and I got desperate for some root coverage. I did the regrowth, scalp cover as instructed, and let the whole thing process for 30 minutes. I gently sudsed it up, rinsed it with filtered water, and then shampooed it after. Let me tell you, I have to say this is the WORST ever I have purchased to use on gray regrowth. I did not mask, or hide a single gray hair. I am about 40% gray at the temples, and widows peak. I am extremely disappointed in this products performance. Is this because of no ammonia in it? Ugh. It looks just the same as it did before coloring it today. Zero cover. Awful result! Sorry!

I hope they never stop making this
The stuff is great it does the coloring that I want. I'm very white haired on the front and a little darker on the back so what I do is I put it on the front where the white is for a half an hour and then I finish it through the back for about 15 minutes. I'm using the blonde over gray because I am a blonde with gray hair. Even the younger girls that I know come up to being say wow your hair looks so cool is it natural? Because they know it's not but it looks so natural they can't help but ask. I feel like this doesn't have a lot of nasty stuff in it like some of the other stuff has. And I don't have to do it like every 4 to 6 weeks for some reason it just Blends in so well that I can literally go a couple of months actually the last time I went 4 months before I felt like I needed to redo it. I hope this company never stops making this product it's the best I've ever used.

Tricky with gray hair
Love this hair dye but it can be tricky with gray hair, my gray strands do not match the rest of my hair color and are instead noticeable lighter

Worth a try if you are allergic to other colors
Ok... I did my research.. .and lots of it. I am allergic to hair color. As I got older, the more sensitive the back of my neck became. The last time I went to my hairdresser for a color, I was sick for 2 weeks! Never again!!So I did my research. Many people have reviewed this hair color that have allergies. Some reviews were better than others. I have hair past my shoulders... so I purchased two boxes just to be safe that I would have enough. One bottle ended up being enough.First thing I learned from other reviews, this goes on darker than expected! I have chestnut brown hair... I purchased the Medium Blonde, it ended up being the exact color of my hair. The instructions are pretty simple. It said to keep on hair 30 minutes. With that said, I have gray roots, and I hate them. Those pesky grays are about 3 inches long because I have PTSD from my hairdresser almost putting me in the hospital. When the color was in my hair, the top of my head tingled... that was the extent of any reaction I had. My eczema on the back of my neck and hair line did not flare at all.... so for any of you with those allergies... this is for sure a color to try. I kept it in 30 minutes like I said and they give a conditioner to put in after you rinse it out.The bad news is I have washed my hair twice since coloring and the grays on top are back already :( In other reviews I noticed that people say it does not last long, like 8 washes... so I was hoping to make it that long. Being this color gave me no reaction... I am giving it another try in about a month. This time I may keep on my top roots longer to see if that works..... I may try to buy a shade darker as well. It's worth a try for those who have allergies or just don't want those horrible chemicals soaking in your brain.Update 2/2025I keep the color on my grays longer, about 45-50 mins and it lasts longer!! very mild on the scalp!

Salon color
This is the same brand my salon guy uses for a fraction of the price! I like the color. It’s subtle. And it’s plant based so it’s gentle on my hair. I’ve used a lot of different colors at the salon and at home. This is a keeper.

Stood up - Pleasantly surprised and less toxic
I did some research on the less toxic hair color and this brand came up (still toxic but not as bad as other at home colors and professional color). So, I brought this to my stylist and we did a test to see if it would cover my grey and stand up. I have some tough greys and was very surprised at how well it performed. We have decided to just do heavy highlights in the future, but, if I was going to move forward with an all over color, I would use this product. Note: I have been coloring my hair since 1990 and have had greys since I was 19 years old, this did better than most in covering grey. Natural hair is a mousy brown and grey patches at front temples. Good luck!

Use at risk to your golden locks
Head started to tingle ran to rinse out. Hair broke off at roots. Will have to grow hair that broke off and is a frizzy mess because I was trying to use a SAFE color. I'm trying Roux Porosity Control that a beautician used for me when I permed my own hair in high school. Sold on Amazon and wonderful for your hair. That's what I do recommend.
