A Mom's Lifesaver
I'm a big fan of Lori Lite's work! I purchased the book and enjoyed it for several weeks, now it's in the hands of my best friend. So it's one of those books that will end up in the homes of people you love.Lori Lite understands kids and parents, and is truly gifted in her ability in which she can identify how best to push through times of stress and anxiety. A few weeks ago, I had the chance to chat with Lori over the phone. While I had all my technology ready to go to record our hour long conversation, my technology failed me, so I’m here writing to you from my heart!Oftentimes, parents get so lost in the minutia of parenting and not targeting areas that we can improve ourselves to make the childhood journey easier for our family dynamic. The book, Stress Free Kids navigates you through almost EVERY scenario you could possibly have with your kids. No rock is unturned, and I have felt compelled since purchasing the book to go back to it on a daily basis referencing it for guidance, support or just a great reminder of what I’m already trying to incorporate. To seek this help from Lori’s writing puts me at ease immediately. Don’t you feel adrift sometimes – alone on a runaway ship? This book has become my anchor, as the CD’s have become that for my daughter.Book Sections that Make Sense. The book is broken down into easy to read sections:•Part 1: The Stress Connection•Part 2: The ABC’s of Decreasing Stress•Part 3: Stressful Situations, SolvedAs you can see, Lori taps into all facets of stress related issues and helps you to understand them, and helps to relieve them in your family. Other sections of the book we loved:Sanity Savers: The book also gives quick Sanity Savers throughout the book from tried and true issues she’s experienced first hand and comes up with great possible solutions.Mindful Mantras: These are scattered about in the book and I LOVE them. One I adored is:“Just for today, I will choose loving and kind words when I speak to my child. I know that one day these words will become her inner voice.”Christine’s Takeaways & Favorite PartsThe book offers up parents a real framework to guide parents. There are no instruction manuals that come with parenthood, but this book is pretty close! It’s my go to from now on! At this season of motherhood Chapter 3 really resonated with me; Kids Don’t Come with Directions, but Need Direction (Page 45). Reminding us of the following:” The child supplies the power but the parents have to do the steering.” — Dr. Benjamin SpockI most especially like the framework of a letter Lori puts together to keep the lines of communication open with your tween or teens. It’s really so well done and I will be drafting my own this weekend (Pages 58 & 59).So some takeaways I have from the book are:•Listen to your inner voice• Find balance• Respond to your instincts• Get plenty of good, healthy food for your family• Exercise – it’s good for everything and everyone in your family!

Excellent Sanity-Builder with the Turn of Every Page!
"Stress Free Kids" provided such a refreshing perspective on approaching our children during day to day activities. Having worked with children for over 10 years, I regularly seek out information on parenting tools to help with the various situations which cause stress -- both in myself, and subsequently in my child. Lori's book covers the basics that may not seem so basic to every mommy and daddy. Things like handling our own adult stresses in healthy ways first - can help our children feel it less, and can teach them how to cope. Being more observant, paying attention, and realizing we are all indivuals are some of the fundamentals addressed. Most importantly, taking the TIME to allow yourself to breathe in between the ups and downs -- is oh so helpful. The easy to read topics arr abundant and cover a wide range of areas - which I found fantastic. I absolutely loved the "lessons" in each chapter, as they all made sense and prefaced excellent tips and how-to's. I will definitely keep referencing this book for reminders & I highly recommend every parent read this so they can get a grip and an awesome insight into how remain sane amongst the chaos that is being a parent.

You have to put your air mask on first in order to help those around you
Ahead of receiving this book, I had the awesome chance to talk to Lori and found her to be a kind, open-minded person. This book absolutely chock full of wonderful, creative and easy to use ideas, techniques, and strategies to reduce stress in your life and in that of your any children you come in contact with. That is for sure her main point: you have to put your air mask on first in order to help those around you. Relaxation is a skill that you need to practice to master and by sharing personal stories, answering parent generated questions and other varied techniques, such as affirmations and mediation, Ms Lite offers techniques to empower you on your journey to a stress-less life. I was especially inspired by her chapter on bringing these techniques into schools and know that I will use many of her tips to help the sites that I work with. This is an excellent book for parents and teachers, anyone who works with kids.

Good tips and ideas to start helping immediately.
I was recommended Lori's book Stress Free Kids, from a friend that has heard me talk about the struggles I am having with my oldest. She was recently diagnosed with ADHD and it is a learning process fro both of us.After reading Lori's book I was able to take some of the things I have been trying and make little changes and I have seen a difference.I have not started using all the methods that Lori suggest as that will take some time to be able to learn to change my habits, but I loved that some of the tips were little tweaks to things we do as parents, and not everything was a major relearn.I have had this book almost a month and am thankful for the improvements and looking forward to waiting and re-reading and seeing what else I can pull from this.

Meh
While the topic and theories presented were relevant and important, this didn't give me any more insights than a standard blogpost or Instagram expert. Stress free parents = stress free kids. Great! All the world's problems solved. I waited too long to read this or else would request a refund.

Well written with excellent insight.
I bought stress free kids as a teacher not a parent. I find the book to be very user friendly. I also have Lori's music and stories which I use to calm the kids in my classes. Well written with excellent insight.
