Works good. Easy to install. Fixed Whirpool side-by-side water.
I bought this following a link from a diy YouTube video after finding water leaking from the dispenser in front However I looked behind the fridge only after the part arrived and found 2 issues: my existing was a double valve that included the inlet and rhe dispenser valves reverted together. Also my inlet was copper tube which I was a bit unsure of unscrewing. My first thought was to return this, but it was easy to break the rivet to separate the existing inlet valve from the dispenser valve. Took about 10 minutes with a thick flat blade, and pliers being both firm yet gentle and slowly going around the rivet pulling the two apart. Didn't have to undo the copper tube from the inlet. It was easy to push in and release 3 plastic tube's. Just make sure to push firmly and all the way when inserting into new valve. If you get confused with which goes where, just know that the hole located separately on this valve takes in water from the fridge filter - if you look under you can follow the line to the filter which is also a larger diameter hole. The other two holes go to the dispenser and ice maker and are also of differing diameters The screw holes on this valve lined up with the inlet valve screw holes perfectly and just pressed the two together and screwed right through. Tested for leaks with running dispenser before pushing back. Flushed couple gallons before use. All good and no more leaks. No need to call repairman or buy a new fridge. At least not for this.

Reliable and Works Great!
The Ice Maker Water Solenoid failed on my 2002 Whirlpool Gold Refrigerator, and I needed to replace it.The OLD solenoid valves had screw-on barrel nuts to secure the plastic tubing to the valves. This NEW design uses PUSH-ON connections. I used a sharp razor knife to cut the tubing close to the connector and was pleased to learn that the diameter of the plastic tubing worked perfectly with this new solenoid valve assembly. I also need to use a Dremel tool and a cut-off wheel to sever the old metal bracket that also contained a screw-on connection between the water intake line and the fridge water filter. I installed this new valve assembly in the same bolt holes as the original valve solenoid assembly, and attached the old water intake bracket just above the new water valve solenoid bracket. You will also need to cut a small notch in the cardboard panel on the rear to accommodate both brackets. In my case the original solenoid measured 2.6 ohms of resistance at the electrical contacts. (This is nearly a dead short!) This condition caused the original LED icemaker sensor and controls to fail. Luckily, these two small circuit cards are available separately through Amazon, and are quite inexpensive and easy to replace.

Universal Fit and Solenoid / Coil! Replace the coil by itself on other models!
I have an Amana refrigerator and discovered my ice-cube-mold-tray was deteriorating. So I replaced the tray and then the water is not filling the ice cube mold with water. I looked up the replacement valve and discovered it was anywhere from $40 used to $90 new and thought how unacceptable it is that I can't just replace the coil by itself! So I found this unit on Amazon for a good price, at $20, and thought to myself that I would just "steal" the coil from it and put it on my valve. Turns out, my theory was correct and it worked out great!Pictures:1. My green coil was bad and had no continuity whatsoever. The green coil on the "Robertshaw" item here on Amazon was not the correct replacement one, instead, the red coil was the proper match. I swapped the red one from "Robertshaw" into my valve and it worked great. This required bending the metal and breaking the "Robertshaw" one, essentially.2. The red one is pictured (looks very orange, however, in the picture). This is the "Robertshaw fitting just fine in my Amana fridge model "TR21VW". Other models that it should work fine with, simply on the basis of assumption, may be the models that have this ice cube tray: (Part Number WPW10190929 (AP6016623) replaces 14211407, 2255835, 627815, 627997, 628189, 628228, 628315, W10122527, W10190929)3. Picture #3, my defective green coil / solenoid is the one in my hand, on the right side of the picture. The green one left in place of the "Robertshaw" product has the wrong size prongs for my valve.I hope this helps any other DIY-ers out there. The coil themselves should have been sold individually but oh well.
