PDP Gaming Energizer Dual Controller Charging System, Two Rechargeable Battery Packs: Black - Xbox One

I was pleasantly surprised by these. Having come from owning a PS4 prior (which comes with a rechargeable battery in the controller out of the box) I always thought of XBox controllers and needing separate/3rd party rechargeable batteries as kind of cheesy/low quality. Let me tell you, its the other way around. PS4 controllers have notoriously poor battery life. They dont hold a charge well when being idle and in use they deplete in just a few hours. So on to the actual review... Using Xbox one X (XB1X) with 2 standard Microsoft black XB1X controllers Pros: - Doesn't take up a USB port on the XB1X - Charges quickly (0-100% roughly 2-3 hours) - Doors provided work and do not add any extra bulk to the controller - Impressive battery life! I got roughly 20-30 hours of game play spread over a 2-3 week period off a single charge. - Can replace the battery instead of whole controller if a battery stops holding a charge Cons (Have to really put effort into finding any): - Controllers do not snap or anchor into the base, so if in an area they may get bumped into they could fall off stand. - Wall wart (AC Charger) could have been less wide I do not have an Elite controller to confirm compatibility however my box clearly states that it is compatible. My package came with 2x black doors and 2x white doors. Not sure if this is just aesthetics for those with different color controllers. I used the black doors on my 2x standard controllers. I was not expecting these to have the kind of battery life they have had so far. Its possible over time they will stop holding a charge as well, but even if I have to replace the batteries every 1-2 years its well worth it. If they start showing significantly lower battery life in the near future, Id have to change my review but so far if they stay at the current level I am getting more than I thought I would. I would highly recommend these batteries/charger for any XB1 user.

I read about people having trouble getting them to charge so it made me hesitant at first to buy it. But I can say that it is no problem for me at all. Really simple to setup and it holds the controllers good. Very nice product! UPDATE 3/2/14 Seller responded to my claim and asked for me to repackage it and send it back where they would "test" it and or try to fix it. If it was no good they would refund my payment or send me a new one. Which is ok but I'm not waiting dumb long for all that. Amazon pretty much instantly refunded the payment to me. That's why I love shopping here they are really good about returns/refunds. UPDATE 2/27/14 One of the charging packs appears that it does not charge up! I didn't notice this at first because even though I have 2 controllers nobody else really plays but me. When I tried to use my other controller it was dead. Okay, maybe I had it set wrong. Nope. I even switched the packs in the controllers and it did the same to the other controller. This blows because the working charge pack works really good and holds a good charge. We'll see what happens but I know Amazon has been really good with returns/credits in the past to me. Not lowering my rating because I believe I just got a DUD pack which happens out there.

This is pretty cool. I was going through tons of double As with the amount I play and i decided it would definitely be cheaper to get something rechargeable. I used to have the Play and charge kit, which works good if your controller is dead and you want to keep playing, but when you just want to recharge your controller its messy and adds another wire to the giant mess of wires i already have. Since i have two controllers and there are unfortunately very few local two player xbox one games, I figured i can always charge one controller while playing with the other. This thing looks sick and all you have to do is place the controller on the rack and its charging, and it stops charging when its done so its a great place to store your controllers as well. I pretty much charge the controller everyday because i keep it on the charger when im not using it, but even if i left it off for a day or two i have yet to have the controller die on me and i play alot, so the battery life must be pretty good. All in all i am one satisfied customer

I purchased this charging station when it was on sale. For the money even when not on sale it's a killer deal vs play and charge kit from Microsoft. When I got my Xbox One I thought about using my EBL rechargeable batteries from my camera flashes however I thought a station would be a lot more pleasing to the eye and I wouldn't want to swap batteries back and forth. It looks nicely next to my xbox and does its duty. Only things that I can take one start off the rating are: Finicky hooks to put the controllers on. I am not sure how they will behave long term Xbox One won't show correct charge status but 3/4th full. Though I'd say they last good 5-8 hours of solid gaming for me. Also another concern is reliability of the battery packs which are in fact to rechargeable batteries fused together in the enclosure. Though the kit is cheap enough and quality is good to be replaced again over year from purchase.

I was kind of hoping that this would work as a stand for my Xbox One and my Xbox 360 for PC controllers, but because of the difference in the battery packs, it won't work for Xbox 360 controllers (it will for Xbox Elite controllers though). Regardless, for a licensed product, the price is great, and it works exactly as claimed. I thought the Xbox controller would sort of "click in", but it actually goes in very easily, which I like, because it makes it simple to place and remove your controllers, even from odd angles. I've got it on the top shelf of my desk, next to the main surface, and even though it's basically at eye level, it's very easy to just pop the controller in whenever I like. The battery packs are supposed to be rated at 1200mAh, but I haven't gone through a full cycle yet to see how they last. Regardless, I feel certain the cost of batteries would outrun the relatively inexpensive cost of this unit pretty quickly, so I think it's definitely a good buy. Looks cool too! In my opinion, this is an all around great storage/charging solution for your Xbox One controllers. HIGHLY recommended.

Recomendado para los que batallan comprando pilar para sus mandos, funciona perfecto y dura bastante la pilar cargada, me he echado maratones de juegos y puedo garantizar que dura mas de 10 horas de uso continuo, tal vez hasta 12, lo único malo es que yo tenia uno igual antes, y después de 2 años empezó a fallar uno de los cargadores, tenia un "falso contacto" y tenia que buscar acomodarlo con cuidado para que cargara, aunque no era mucho problema, pero bueno, que 2 años funcionando bien esta de lujo.

Ich war mir erst nicht sicher, doch habe mich am Ende dafür entschieden. Die Station ist sehr schön und besonders Modern, vom aussehen her. Es macht gerade Abends was her. Dazu halten die Akkus, meiner Meinung nach sehr lange. Manche hatten dies Reklamiert, wobei ich sagen muss, wer mehr als 12 Stunden am Stück spielt (mit Headset), sollte zumindest 2 Controller haben. Für durchschnittliche Spieler reicht dies vollkommen aus! Ich finde auch dass das Preis leistungsverhältnis SUPER ist. Ich erinner nochmal daran, dass es von MS direkt schon mit Kabel und Akku bei 18,99€ los geht. Somit stimmt der Preis ! Pro -Preis -Aussehen -2 Akkus Contra ??? Bis auf die Spieler, die länger spielen als 12Std. (inkl. Headset), sollten zumindest einen 2ten Controller zum wechseln haben.

Aunque no se corresponde al que estaba en las fotografías de Amazon cuando lo compré, estéticamente está bastante bien. Trae su propio alimentador, con lo que no necesitas uno USB como en otros modelos similares. Los mandos encajan perfectamente en la base para la carga. Me decanté por este modelo sobre todo por traer baterías Energizer. Tengo otros productos similares para otras consolas con baterias chinas (sin marca) que al cabo de unos pocos meses ya eran inservibles. Estas de momento funcionan como el primer dia.

I ordered this due to being fed up of having to cycle batteries for the Xbox One pad. The main problem being the inexplicable ommision of the flashing low battery indicator the 360 enjoyed meaning the pad simply turns off without warning during gaming. I also chose this one because it's officialy licenced and MS reccomend it. Furthermore, I wanted a perpetual power solution as the licenced headsets now utilise power from the controller. The Amazon blunder was that I was sent a unit with a euro plug. I phoned Amazon and to be fair they offered either a partial refund or to return the product. I chose the partial refund as I had a euro plug adaptor already. The refund was made immediately. So, the product. The batteries charged very quickly, about 2-3 hours, and I have yet to even make a difference in the battery charge indicator after a gaming session. The unit is sturdy enough and the controllers lift out and drop in. So as long as you're not heavy handed there is no need to put any stress on the plastic recepticals when placing or removing the controllers. The electrical connection is achieved through small metal springs that connect to a small area on the battery cover. These springs do feel very delicate, but again, as long as youre not extremely heavy handed they shouldn't become damaged. Be aware that the included batteries each come with a special bettery cover for the controller. These have a V ridge to the underside which can be felt with the fingers when playing. This is in contrast to the Xbox One controllers' battery cover which is smooth, and could be a disraction to some players. A small detail, but if you're one of those gamers who would be easily distracted by such things then it could prove a deal breaker. One final note, if you are using these in a bedroom then the LEDs when green are pretty bright so it may be neccesary to turn the unit off at night. If like me you will be using it as part of a living room entertainment set up then personally I think the LED indicators make a cool addition. However I cannot find any detail as to their power consumption when the batteries are charged and the unit remains on. So at this point I cant say whether it enters a low power stay charged mode or just keeps eating the power. Overall, so far, very pleased with the unit. Personally I feel the unot is good value for money compared to an official Play & Charge kit, especially if you have two controllers. I would definately reccomend this to friends.
