So much better than pills
I already take two other forms of calcium and I wanted to get a well rounded calcium intake from different sources. I need a ton of calcium due to a med that causes bone loss over the years. This product is virtually tasteless when mixed in a protein shake. I'm sure it would probably be the same when mixed in a glass of juice. A little chalky..? Yeah, but it's calcium and they are all a little chalky. This one is not bad at all in that respect. I think it is due to how fine the powder is. Pretty much the consistency of talcum powder. I do mix it into my shake container in/over the sink, not on the counter for less mess. I also add other stuff to the shake so there is always a bit of fallout. This is a great option for those of us who hate taking pills.

No soy lecithin!
I love this mayo. I can't soy so this is one of the few I can eat.

Will reorder
Received this product mid December 2024 and have been using it for about a month. Did extensive research on calcium citrate powder and liquid (the horse pills discouraged me from taking them) and came across this NOW Calcium Citrate powder. Have good experience with other NOW brand organic products so decided to give this a try.I was able to flip open the bottle cap after pulling the plastic ring off (which was the outside seal/part of the bottle cap) around the neck, exposing a foil seal. Took a little effort to remove the seal and the product was well protected inside the bottle bc of the seal.I get most of my calcium daily requirement from food but occasionally need a supplement to make up for 1200mg. Each 1/4 tsp = 100mg (1 Tbsp = 4x1/4 tsp = 400mg). I did the calculation so you don’t have to. I dilute it in plain water, soup, liquid IV etc and don’t find it chalky at all. I wouldn’t recommend consuming it with dairy products (usually with high calcium content) bc anything over 500mg (some say 400-600mg) would not be absorbed by your body. In my case I usually take this supplement after dinner so I know how much I would need to make up for the discrepancy.Btw you can bring powder form vitamins on a plane.

Calcium vs D3
NOW products are very very good (no argument there, I'm a repeat buyer of NOW products), but this review is just about calcium citrate products in general.Calcium citrate is more absorbable than other forms of calcium supplements. However, there has never been a study that actually proves that calcium supplements work to prevent bone loss. If you eat a well balanced diet and take Vitamin D3, a fat soluable 'vitamin' (FYI-not a vitamin, but a group of neuroregulatory steroidal hormones that help with absorption of calcium and phosphate), you are far better off. D3 has to be taken with an oil to be absorbed. I use the NOW D3 with olive oil. it's a very good product.

Powdered form
It tastes good. I just tend to forget to take it at night. For me, pill form is easier.

It boosts bone health
A medication I'm on weakens bones. Physician recommended a calcium powder. Have used this almost every morning in a smoothie for two years. Calcium level in blood has increased to acceptable level and stayed there for a long time.

Fulfills my needs easily
This powder is just so much better than those huge Calcium Citrate pills! Even the ones that say petite are are very large and hurt my throat so this powder is the best option for me!I just mix it into my juice with protein drink and I can’t even taste it!🤩Seven years ago I had an X-ray of my back and was told that I have osteopenia which is the start of osteoporosis. I went to my doctor last week to ask about having another scan done to see an update. He told me that he’s seen so many women come through his office having been on flow max that have very, very, very bad side effects from it that are far worse than osteoporosis. Unfortunately, he said that it can actually make jaw bones more prone to breakage and such. So, instead of doing the flow max, he highly recommended taking Calcium Citrate because it is the most bioavailable form of Calcium. But he said that in order to make it more bioavailable it should be supplemented with Vitamin D. And of course he said that I should be doing lots of weight bearing exercises because this exercise is so important for strengthening bones. This is a nice, big bottle (1st pic) that should last over 2 months when taking a teas. and a half (600 mgs per day which is the recommended amount online and on this bottle) in some kind of liquid. I tasted it alone (3rd photo) and it doesn’t really taste like anything, slightly chalky if you take more than a tiny bit, and it is the consistency of flour IMHO.The bottle has 2 safety seals (see second pic) for those that are interested.Hope this helps and wishing you all strong bones!🎉🌟

It’s ok
It’s okay. But to use 1 and 1/2 teaspoon is a bit much to get the required 600 mg daily and found the drink to be pretty chalky. Found another brand that only requires 1/2 teaspoon for 1000 mg daily which is okay for me. Hoping this helps up my calcium level as I have osteoporosis.
