Does the job!
The display is nice and clear, temperature is determined swiftly and the thermometer is also waterproof, so can be washed easily! (Has been washed multiple times without issue. Only tried handwashing as we don't have a dishwasher).

Perhaps they are not all the same.
When I received it the battery was flat.I fitted a new battery . I thought I had fixed it . Within 2 days the battery was flat again . I complained to Amazon. They gave me my money back. Full marks to amazon . Zero marks for the product . I now over cook everything to be safe.

Very slow. No good for homebrewing.
Bought this to check water and mash temps whilst making beer. It is very slow in reading the temperature and at room temperature seems 1 to 2 degrees off. It does feel well built but I wouldn't recommend it.
