TFA Dostmann Horizon 35.1155.01 Wireless Weather Station with Outdoor Sensor Weather Forecast with Radio Controlled Clock Black

Its just what i wanted gives you the time the date, the weather, the temperature indoors and out doors, time of sunset & sunrise, moon rise and set, moon phase.

When this weather station arrived and I noticed that it was made in Germany I thought that the old saying of reliable German engineering would be a good thing, rather than the usual made in China. How wrong I was! The backlight didn’t work, so it’s faulty on Arrival. Perhaps some extra quality control would not go amiss. Having said that (and before I noticed that the backlight didn’t work) it was easy to set up, essentially put the batteries and after a few minutes it picked up the atomic clock signal (which is stated to be accurate to a second in a million years) from Frankfurt (manual states that you should pick it up within 1500 km from Frankfurt, and I am near London so it was no problem). You then put in your time zone offset from Germany (-1 hour in my case) so it shows local UK time rather than local Frankfurt time. Next put in your location so that the sun and moon rise calculations and bingo, all works perfectly. The sync to the outside unit worked immediately I put the batteries in and the temp agreed to within about .2 degree with my previous unit (different make). Sun and moon rise and set times are also bang on so it seems an accurate unit. If the backlight worked I would have given it 5*.

Liked this unit until a storm took out the sender. Would consider a replacement.

A promising start, the display was clear and easy to setup. Sadly like 2 other different weatherstations we have had, this one too failed with a faint display after 2w. The others lasted 3-4y but still failed. Returned unit for a refund. Very disappointed.

Inside and outside temperatures matched . Good heavens . Excellent manual . Very straightforward . Great display .

Overall not bad but wish I spent a bit more and got a better one ,the weather forecast is not so good as I would have liked as it does not give a true reading of the weather not like the one I had before and the barometer is incorrect as well. Overall not bad but would not want to buy ag5

The proof will be whether this outlasts four other makes returned as not fit for purpose. I'm hoping that this will be ok as it has fewer functions (and therefore fewer things to go wrong), than others I have tried. Straightforward setup - although the atomic clock wouldn't connect in over 24 hours. When it did, I had to reset it for BST as it was 2 hours ahead (Germany based). Then it stayed on the same time and date so I set it manually! It's within a degree Celcius for the temperature readings and seems to be holding the same barometric pressures which I can check for local conditions. Easy enough to read and looks ok. Decent instructions as well with sunrise/sunset times and moon phases. Can't comment on how waterproof the external sensor is, but it looks as though I shall have to make it weatherproof. Fingers crossed!

The TFA Dostmann Horizon 35.1155.01 Wireless Weather Station was installed about two weeks ago and it is extremely accurate and easy to read. I am very impressed with the quality and far superior to my previous weather station.
