Easy to use, Works as Promised, for a Great Pen
There is not much to say here as this is just ink refills, but they work great with the Lamy Safari pen they are designed for. It is easy to see when they are empty. They install easily. There is no mess. They do not break or leak easily. The quality of the ink is great, though this depends upon your paper and conditions.I do agree with one of the other reviewers that the ink can smudge if you don't give a few minutes to dry. This is subjective depending upon your writing style. In my case, I accept the smudging possibility because the upside is that the pen works smooth (if the ink was too dry or had bad chemicals it would dry quicker).

Good value and decent black
Cartridges are so convenient, especially for road warrior pens like the Safari. I picked up this pack with my latest acquisition and had really low expectations. It lays down nearly as dark as Noodler's Bad Black Moccasin and dries to a dark charcoal. Actually, you'd see it as black unless, like me, you were comparing it to other black inks. Great for every day, easy on the eyes, never had a dud in a Lamy cartridge pack.

Good, but not best option for refills
These cartridges work exactly as needed, but for anyone who is using a fountain pen long-term, you are much better off buying a glass of ink and a Lamy Refill Converter. This is a much cheaper option in the long run because you buy ink in a larger quantity (and have more choices are far are better quality inks and different colors) and then simply siphon ink from a glass jar to the refill cartridge. The only downside to the refill cartridge is that it holds less ink (to make room for the plunger-like thing that creates suction) but even then you wouldn't use up an entire cartridge in one day unless you were writing constantly for several hours.

Good ink
I keep these in my backpack as a backup for when my pen runs out of ink. They have good ink, and write very smoothly. The color is very close to black, unlike some inks which are more grey. The only reason I don't use these all the time is the expense. It's much cheaper to use a converter with bottled ink, but I like to keep these around in case my pen runs out when I don't have my ink bottle with me. If you don't want to go to the hassle of refilling a converter, these are a great choice.

Cartridges are perfect, just make sure you periodically disassemble your Lamy to clean it for it to write optimally.
I inserted the first cartridge but....nothing. If you have the same experience, it's not the cartridges, your Lamy Pen just needs to be cleaned first. There are some online videos that show how to simply do that. The metal nib pulls out easily. The plastic piece the nib fits over also separates of pulled out firmly. (No twisting though as there are small nubs for alignment you'll break if you twist it off!) Run each piece under the tap or soak in clean water, wipe each off and air dry. Reassemble and your pen will write like new!
