Fantastic Knives for the Beginner Chef that Commands Respect.
Got this as a gift for my father, since heās been wanting a good beginner chef knife set, and let me tell you, he LOVES them. Talks about them all the time, and is fascinated with their use. Very sharp out of the box. Can I get into the technical about them? Not really, Iām not going to pretend to. Most chefs at a higher level prefer picking their knives out individually, if thatās you, then youāre probably not looking at this set anyway, however, if you or a loved one just wants a good set of knives to learn about cooking as an art form rather than as a task, or are just dabbling, this is a fantastic place to start. This brand has name recognition for good reason. Anyone in the know can tell you, this is not a brand to scoff at. Very respectable, specially if youāre starting out, this is a good gateway. Nothing but love for Victorinox. These knives should be washed and sharpened immediately after each use, to not allow them to dull, so my next purchase (should couple yours if you can) is an electric knife sharpener (good ones can be found for about $30). Been well over a week of use and heās still pumped about them, which makes me happy. BEWARE, I would use hand protection with these, this is most definitely not a set of knives for people who have no clue what theyāre doing, you can, and will, cut yourself with these. The quality of the little kit that holds the knives is fine, not entirely out of place. Besides the little plastic covers for the knives, there is no real protection from he blades. My dad just puts them back in the little plastic and it works well for him. Some people prefer covers for theirs, I wouldnāt know what direction to point you to if thatās the case, but just a heads up. I got them at $154 which is a good price, probably on the upper-end of what Iād pay for them though. Iām sure I couldāve gotten them for lower if I waited long enough, but my dad wanted the gift now and this was the best set in my opinion for that price point. I would try to pay around that or a little less if possible for a set of these, but I donāt expect to find this quality, realistically, for under $100. If theyāre being offered for more than what I got them for (as they currently are), I would hold off on the purchase until they restock at a lower price. Overall though, 5 Stars!

Best basic/workhorse knives for the money
I have 10 years or of professional cooking experience. I lost all of my Culinary tools recently and decided to get a basic set going again. My top priorities were NSF Certified knives, how well they hold up to daily use, and overall utility of the set. Victorinox was at the top of my list with nothing else coming close. You just can't beat the value. I bought the basic 7 piece Fibrox set, a vegetable peeler, and a Fibrox Pro Santoku (I bought the Santoku straight from Victorinox though). Now I just need a couple of more utensils and a cleaver (I prefer a heavier meat cleaver over the Vict's Fibrox ones) and I'll be all set to having a great workhorse set again. Sure eventually, I'll want to add in a few high end knives to my set, but even then, I'll likely primarily be using my Vict's. If you plan on buying Victorinox knives as a gift for someone, keep in mind the differences between the different collections. If they are professional cooks, then I'd only recommend the Fibrox line, since those are NSF certified. The handles of the Rosewood set are beautiful (and the blades are the same as the Fibrox Pro knives), but because of the wood handle, they shouldn't be used (and in a lot of US counties, they cannot be used) in a commercial kitchen...for a home chef though, the Rosewood line makes for great knives. I can't give much opinion on the Swiss Modern, Swiss Classic, or Grand MaƮtre line, since none of those lines have NSF knives, they have no interest to me personally.

Great knife set
This is a great set of kitchen knives at the price. Forschner Fibrox knives have been top-rated by a lot of different groups, including Cook's Illustrated; I liked them even before I knew that, just because of the "Victorinox" stamp on the blades, just like my childhood Swiss Army Knives. These knives handle beautifully and cut amazingly well; I've bought five or six of the "paring' knife in this set over the years (my dog likes to chew the handles up, for some reason). When I wanted to upgrade to a full set of kitchen knives and get a honing steel, I got this set, and it was a perfect purchase: the boning knife made dismembering my first whole chicken an almost comically easy process (although the directions in the Joy of Cooking helped too). The knives are light and somewhat flexible, and they're made with stamped rather than forged steel, but they still function excellently despite that -- they give forged function at stamped price. Drawbacks: Some people may find the largest knife in this set, the 10" Chef's knife, a little big and a little lightweight for the size -- a slightly heavier, slightly shorter knife might be a little bit more easy to use. The set also comes with a portable "knife bag" which is probably useless unless you're part of a traveling chef's road show, but if you're using a magnetic knife strip or buying a non-traditional knife block (like the Kapoosh brand knifeblocks, though the 10" chef knife might not fit into those), and don't want the wooden knife block most other knife sets come with, this set gives a great selection of excellent-quality basic kitchen knives at what I found to be an unbeatable price. A perfect choice for a first knife set if you don't want a wooden knife block for whatever reason. EDIT: After having used these knives for about a year, I have to say that everything above is still valid, but they do dull a little quickly -- you might want to grab an electric knife sharpener to keep them well-honed. Alternatively, if you want to teach yourself how to hand-sharpen knives, these would probably be a good set to practice on.

Excelentes, vienen con muy buen filo, creo que la marca responde por ellos, sobra decir que hay que tener cuidado porque cortan mucho

Okay so I'm far from a professional chef but I do a lot of cooking and so comes with that chopping and cutting. I've never bought really good knives before I have to say I'm very happy with these ones. Super sharp and comfortable to hold. I don't use the bread knife much (at all really) but they are great knives. The sharpening tool is also very good. Well worth the money.
