ABSOLUTELY THE BEST TO KEEP COLD AIR OUT!
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST TO KEEP COLD AIR OUT! I've owned several balaclavas, mostly just cotton fabric with a waffle weave. I was skeptical of claims to be wind-proof. I expected it would just minimize the cold and help keep my head warmer under a knit cap. I WAS WRONG! This balaclava is manufactured with two layers of material; 1) Outer neoprene-like layer and 2) inner soft fleece layer. The combination makes this truly wind proof. I had to walk from my car to my office (Washington DC Area), 10 minutes out in the open, and cross a bridge over a highway which always has significant wind at the top. I didn't even feel it when the temperature was +11F with wind chills down to -3F. The only, minor, tiny thing I don't like is the logo right above my eyes. I just don't like prominent logos. However, I do want people to know that the AEGEND brand is awesome. I need to look into other products for skiing this winter.

It works!!!
Very happy with this purchase. I bought this for it's versatility. I am going to be doing some training this winter and will be using this to protect me from the cold. Have only used it as a neck wrap at work (security guard).and it worked flawlessly. No air entered my collar. Also works with glasses (leave a little room to stop fogging) and caps (hardhats).

Ordered a Second! Great product!
I ordered two balaclavas 13 months ago, this and another brand. This is the one I use 95% of the time, the other 5% being when this is soaked from my breath moisture and no time to dry.Just ordered a second one of these. They work great around Detroit and riding the Lake Michigan coast at temp down to 5F with negative F windchill. No degradation of the material during my use, it should last several years! My first was black, ordered the bright yellow today since I ride mostly night in Michigan during the winter months. Should work well with my white helmet for visibility. These dry somewhat quickly with dry heat. Hitting Founder's Brewing Detroit for a mid-ride beverage, gotta dry the balaclava before riding again or it gets cold and painful!!!Fits great under my Bell helmet!

Smells like nostalgia
These smell like a ninja costume I got when I was 12 years old on Halloween. The build is quite thick, and very stretchy. You can wear it like a scarf or full on. Perfect for motorcycle riding in the fall/winter. I like to tuck it into my moto-suite for extra wind protection, as the neck is usually exposed to the chill. Now I am 100% sealed in and warm the whole ride to work and back. I ride a little Honda CBR 300RR, so I never really go above 60 mph. Can't say if it will keep the interstate winds off your neck to all the Road King/GSXR 1000 riders out there. Great buy, for the price! Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get back to work as my boss is walking around the offices asking questions

Far too small for my head
I am male, 6 ft 3 and a head size of 7 3/8. With that said, this Balaclava can be worn, but not without leaving some impressive squeeze marks on my forehead and nose for the rest of the morning. I continued to wear hoping there would be some stretch after a few usages, but it keeps its shape. When I do get it on my noggin it does a fantastic job against the cold on my morning walks. When I try to put it on my own head, the upper piece for the circumference of the head against the forehead wants to snap back and not fit at all. I have to wiggle and hold the front down (where the word Aegend is in the product photos) and keep pulling and stretching to get it to stay. I can eventually get it into position, but I am then blessed with a nice squeeze mark that travels my entire forehead. The face piece comes up nicely into position and keeps my nose-on-down nice and warm. I give it kudos for that. The length of the neck part is perfect and folds underneath layers of collars, coat and shirt, to keep the pesky chilled wind from finding unprotected skin. The tightness of the whole piece will leave a mark on your nose.Unfortunately I stand by my 2-star because I don't feel I have a huge head yet this has to be literally squeezed into and then I'm left with the lines on forehead and nose. It does do a good job at keeping the cold at bay and the length is perfect for keeping the neck warm. I have put it on my 8 year old son and it looks nice, not squeezing him. I do not know his hat size.Edit January 14: I have bumped my review up to 3 stars. I have had several emails with Roger of Aegend and he seems willing to do something for me. He has told me he has a larger model for me to try, free of charge, but due to logistics problems he can not ship at this time. He told me a "few days" to resolve. It has been 1.5 weeks and I am hopeful for something I can wear after this conversation.Edit February 3rd: I received my replacement Aegend balaclava and it is perfect. This customer service is amazing and very responsive. I will definitely give some applause to Roger at Aegend.
