the onion butter is where it’s at!
the onion butter flavor of this is stellar esp if you don’t have a huge palate for spicy food. it’s a little sweet, but it’s also savory and the combination of flavors is so good. cook the sauce down til it’s pretty thick and coats the rice cakes well, it’s way better this way that leaving it thin and soupy. 10/10 for a quick lunch that takes little effort.

Delicioso!
This flavor is a bit sweeter than I'd like, but it's so good! It doesn't really taste like onion to me, but it goes well with various meats and veggies. The sauce thickens perfectly and even if you add more water, it still remains flavorful. This brand gives a good portion for the price, and the tteokbokki are yummy and fragrant. The texture is chewy, but not in a gross way. It has a low heat level and one pack is big enough for a full meal.

Easy snack, good flavor
Easy to cook and great taste. I wish the instructions came with a time for cooking, but I did high heat until boiling, then medium low for about 5-7min and it came out great. The spice has a slow onset but it fades after a while. It's not super sweet and it's got a tang to it.

Sauce Tastes Like Ketchup
The sauce tasted like ketchup. I checked the ingredients and sure enough it contains ketchup. I would rate the heat as between medium and hot. I've tried a few different types of Tepokki and this one was not among my favorites. Probably would not buy again.

Easy to make
Instructions are clear, very easy to make. The rice cakes are tender with a bit of chewiness and the sauce has some spice to it, I would say the spice level depends on how much spice you can tolerate. I would consider this a mild spice level. I do think this product is a little pricey for only two servings, but worth it.

Tasty but a little thick.
I don't really have any complaints about this product except for the fact there's not more. The recommended amount of water on the package yields a thick and kind of sticky sauce on the rice cakes/"noodles". I added just a little more water for a bit of a thinner sauce that still clung to the "noodles". If you've never eaten the kind of rice cakes you find in tteokbokki, they've got a bit of a chewy noodle kind of texture. Softer than a Tootsie roll, but slightly chewier than a pasta noodle. They're super tasty. The "spicy factor" on a scale of 1 to 10 for me is probably about a 4. It's not terribly spicy but it does have a bit of a kick. That being said, I like spicy food and have a pretty high tolerance for spicy things. The seasoning/sauce is pretty mild. It'll clear your sinuses but it won't set your mouth on fire, if that makes sense.
