What form of magnesium is this? Citrate, Taurate, Oxide, etc? Anyone know?

I found this online from the family that heals together blog. Fact checked with magnesium society's description of the beneficial magnesiums and it seems very accurate. Long story short, I will no longer be getting this brand, citrate is not the way to go, it may contain arsenic (as one person mentions in the reviews and questions that third party testers found it). Mag citrate actually pulls water into your intestines, which can lead to dehydration. What’s worse, this type of magnesium can reduce ceroplasmin levels, leading to mineral imbalances and deficiencies. Finally, there is evidence that the most popular magnesium citrate on the market may contain high levels of arsenic (the original reason our family ditched it several years ago). Magnesium hydroxide- like magnesium citrate, magnesium hydroxide moves the bowels by drawing water into the colon. In addition, side effects include nausea, fatigue, and loss of appetite. Magnesium aspartate and glutamate- because the amino acids aspartate and glutamate are excitotoxins, it’s important they do not become imbalanced. While consuming them as part of a complete protein with numerous other amino acids in foods like collagen is ok, it is not wise to supplement them independent of other amino acids. The BEST types of magnesium (and note these will be more expensive than this brand because they are better quality) 1. How long does it take to start relieving anxiety?

2nd part, for my fellow anxious people: (And btw, I have ended up buying this for others as well, on auto-ship, too. It’s an absolute must for myself and others, including the girl at the grocery who also swore by it for her anxiety.) Sleep deprivation also increases anxiety. These are simple, but huge factors in anxiety attacks. It’s why I take the allergy med, to go to sleep and stay asleep, so I have less anxiety. Walking it off helps some, too, unless your heart is racing and you’re already sleep deprived, dehydrated, and exhausted. Then it just makes it worse for me. I have to be calm already, or not past that point of no return. Then walking or exercise in general helps the long term effects. But making your heart race when you’re already extremely anxious doesn’t help, not for me, anyway. *Sometimes sufficient water and electrolytes, a decongestant if your lungs or sinuses are congested, and some rest is all you need to get things working right again*, so don’t freak that it’s something serious. It usually isn’t. And read the decongestant labels. Some have ingredients that make anxiety worse. I had to use the 4 hr, and not the 12 hr of the type I got. The 12 hour had something that increases heart rate/blood pressure. Just some things that affected mine and have been mentioned on medical pages, not professional medical advice from me. I hate to see anyone have anxiety and nowhere to turn. It often hits people late at night, when others are asleep and there’s no help. There’s always a 24/7 prayer line out there, for those who are in an extreme situation. None of the 24/7 anxiety and panic attack phone lines listed were EVER open when I called them. NONE. But, some very kind Christians, volunteering their time to talk to a stranger in the wee hours of the night were there. They did answer, and they did help.

From naturalvitality.com: Does Natural Calm contain corn or any of its derivatives? The unflavored version of our Natural Calm does not contain any corn or derivatives of corn. The flavoring used in the other varieties (Raspberry Lemon, Sweet Lemon, Orange, and Cherry) does have a sub-ingredient that is derived from corn (organic maltodextrin); however, there are no corn proteins in the product and all flavors of Natural Calm have been verified as non-GMO by the Non-GMO Project.

Can't believe this product has been shown to have high levels of arsenic and 97% more magnesium per serving than stated. Has anyone else seen this?

The simple truth is that Natural Calm both meets its potency label claim and is well within the No Significant Risk Levels for arsenic and in fact is less than 10 percent of California's Prop 65 stringent safe threshold levels. This has been consistently scientifically validated by third party test results from top American testing labs as part of standard Good Manufacturing Practices. Virtually everything that you eat and drink, is going to contain trace amounts of the "heavier" metals such as Arsenic, Lead, Cadmium and Mercury. The reason for this is that each of those minerals are founds naturally within the earth's soil and ocean waters. Plants absorb them through their roots and pass them along to whatever fruits or vegetables they grow. Animals get them from eating the grass, leaves or fruits of those plants. Fish and other food sourced from the ocean get it absorbed through their skin just from being in the water. It is virtually impossible to have a diet absolutely free of those heavier metals.The current established No Significant Risk Level for Arsenic has already been set at 10mcg/day. That being said, in Labdoor's report, they used an upper limit of 0.1mcg/day for Arsenic as their "threshold", based off of a 2003 proposal that was never accepted or approved. As you can see, Labdoor arbitrarily used a limit 100x lower than what's already been established as being safe to consume. They state that they used the 0.1mcg for supplements as the 10mcg NSRL is only established for drinking water. However, they failed to factor in that the Natural Calm bonds with the water molecule and would therefore fall under the same guidelines for drinking water. To give you a little perspective, in a single serving of pasta or rice, there is going to be close to 7x the amount of Arsenic than there is in the Natural Calm.Further, when Labdoor did the testing on our product, they tested 10.66g and attributed the results of those quantities to a 4g serving size. On their initial Report, they had incorrectly read the Lab Results and attributed the quantities for 10.66g to the 5.33g and then scaled that down to the 4g serving size that we recommend. This skewed the numbers even further and caused further misinformation regarding the Natural Calm. Attached is a Certificate of Analysis that was run on a suggested serving size of 4g.As it stands, the Natural Calm falls within all Health & Safety guidelines as established by the FDA and the much stricter OEHHA Prop 65 Guidelines.
