Quick and convenient
Super quick, easy and convenient way to have refried beans, whether you want to make just one serving or feed a crowd. Price comes out to about 85 cents per serving, which is cheaper than getting canned refried beans, which are usually about a dollar a serving (2 servings per $2 can). People talk about getting it cheaper at a restaurant supply store, but look, if you have Amazon Prime you get free shipping and you don't have to buy in bulk. This is suitable for any recipe calling for refried beans, and it's seasoned only with salt, so you can add in as little or as much of the spicier ingredients if you want. Doesn't take up much shelf space, either. For me, it's ideal. It's the real beans.

Amazing product
The taste of homemade (these are made with lard), and more convenient than canned. Sometimes I just want *A* burrito. Not 4, or 6, or 10. One. And I don't know about anyone else, but when I open a can of refried beans, if I don't use it all right then, it ends up sitting in my fridge until it gets thrown out. I don't have the time for homemade anymore, plus, with the kids grown, there aren't enough mouths to feed to make it worth my while. These are great. They taste like restaurant-style refried beans, but only take minutes to cook. Boil water, add beans, stir, cover, turn off heat. Boom. That's it. By the time you've warmed up the tortillas, the beans are done. You can make as much, or as little as you want. For one burrito, I use 1/4 cup beans to 1/4 cup water. Feeding more? 2 cups beans to 2 cups water. Easy Peasy.Seriously worth the money.

Family favorite
These are a family favorite and I buy them every few months. I love being able to just make a small portion for taco night or larger portions when I have family over. It's easy to make, just add boiling water. Much cheaper buying it this way than the smaller packs at the grocery store. Tastes just like resturant style refried beans!

Terrific taste. Texture. Storage.
Pros: When allowed time to soak up water as directed, taste and texture almost indistiguishable from homemade. No spices added. You are free to do what you want. Store well in cupboard. Easy to adjust amount made. Fantastic taste. Go long way and super convenient pantry staple for quick use.Cons: Very expensive nowadays. Instructions only for full bag food service use. So you have to do a bit of math or experimentation at home amounts. Not vegan if you care about such things.

Best Dried Beans - Easy to Use
The Santiago dried beans are the only beans I will use now. Taste-wise, these are way better than what you get from the can. They are also incredibly easy to use - I just cook hot water in my kettle, pour it over, and mix. This product is a staple in my kitchen and something I will repurchase over and over.

Great flavor and easy prep
These are easy to prepare and the flavor is great even plain. Best when I use a touch of ham base or bacon fat in the water. I find they need at least 30 minutes or more to hydrate (remixing a couple of times). Probably will not buy canned ever again. Especially since I was able to find these locally at a restaurant supply store for about 7$ a bag (same size/type as of May 2024). I suspect a lot of local restaurants are using these. My wife would get cravings for refried beans at a local restaurant because they were so good - she says these are just as good but need a touch of ham base (I use half the suggested ham base in the water and some bacon fat).
