Harborlite Aqua Perl Pool Filter D.E. 48 Pounds

For the fact that this is NOT a hazardous material, that is really all I care about. Does the work of DE with similar results (visibly). I'm not a water expert, I don't do microscopic exams of the filter or media, so I cannot tell you if the specs are true. But I really notice no difference from DE in any way. It is just lighter in the bag.I must admit, I must backwash about the same frequency as the DE. So, I will call bull on the notion that this lasts longer between backwashes. However, who cares? It's safe for me and my family. No silicosis concerns with lung damage after chronic use . . .

This stuff is so light-weight. While a great product, you only don't need to have a lot on hand. One bag will last a while. I bought 48 lbs, which is 3 bags and will last years.
