4 year old loves this!
Perfect for my 4 year old (who cannot read yet). Yes, there's potty humor. Yes, the characters go against the grain as typical, school-aged children, but that's the beauty of it all. The pages are great quality with great, vibrant colors. The images are great and they really get my child excited to read books and for me to read to him. We read this during bedtime, story-time and my son wants me to go on, and on reading! There are some parents complaining about misspellings. These are intentionally and only take place in the comic section of the book. The comics are written by the protagonists George and Harold who are school-aged children who spell like typical children their age, that's the purpose of it. The book is not filled with misspellings through out the book so don't worry! If your child knows how to read, then let them know beforehand so they know. If your child doesn't read, and you're reading to him or her simply read the word without bringing attention to the misspelling --at least that's what I do and it works. Once my boy is old enough to read, I'll address the misspelling but it's no big deal in my opinion. It helps children to resonate with the characters, the story, and they become a part of it.The potty humor is what gets many children excited to read. It's nothing inappropriate. It's all what you make it. My 10 year old niece also read ALL the Captain Underpants books and reads these to my son as well -yes, there's so fun to read that she has no problem reading them over and over again. She even read Dogman, which I'm not too much a fan of but will look into it more.I'm new to Captain Underpants and if I were to go by the reviews of some the parents, I would have missed out on a great opportunity. Give it a try. I always recommended reading the books with your children or reading them beforehand. The 12th book of Captain Underpants (which is not included in this collection) present a highly-debatable social topic. Many parents wouldn't want to introduce their children to such a topic, especially at a younger age, while others wouldn't mind. That's why I highly recommended not only researching about a book, reading reviews, but also reading the book first or with your child to avoid any discomfort you may have. You won't have to worry at all with this collection. But, when you reach book 12, just be aware (not beware but aware). If anything, if you're against this certain "social topic," my advice is don't let it ruin all previous 11 books for you, still give this a try. Either don't purchase the 12th book or somehow "mask" the comic box that discusses this social topic. Just a tidbit of extra info. :)

Great books
Finding a book series that captures a child's imagination and keeps them coming back for more is no easy feat, but Captain Underpants has done just that for my son!Pros:Engaging Storyline: The quirky tales, humor, and adventurous plots in this series have thoroughly enchanted my son. He's read them multiple times and still finds each read-through as exciting as the first.Promotes Reading: As a parent, one of the greatest joys is seeing your child develop a love for reading. Thanks to Captain Underpants, my son is always eager to dive back into the pages, which is a testament to the book's allure.Collection Worth: I've bought several books from the series so far, and given how much my son adores them, I'm keen on completing the collection for him.In conclusion, the Captain Underpants series is a delightful blend of humor and adventure, perfect for keeping young readers engaged. If you're in search of books that will kindle (or rekindle) your child's love for reading, this series comes highly recommended. I eagerly anticipate adding the remaining books to our library.
