Case Knife
This is a beautiful knife . The blue bone handle gives the knife an impressive look . The hinges are tight and the knife fits well in the hand . Very sharp right out of the box . I'm sure this knife will serve me well . I almost hate to use it for it's so good looking but eventually I will .

Case = 100% Hand-Made American Quality
This one was a little lighter than I prefer but it's a Case and that means American Quality. I would agree in this case (no pun intended) the color you're getting is portrayed perfectly in the picture. I'm not going to return it as a) I've got plenty of them and b) Case Knives always make great gifts.Side note (and please note): I'm not a Case salesman but I am sold on this brand. I just find it very rare to get more than your money's worth on a product these days.About a month before buying one I was looking for a knife that had more of that classic American appeal. You know, something timeless that your father or your grandfather would have carried around in his pocket. Case knives are just that. They are an instant collectible as each ones unique (hand made). If your like me and you've played the field with CRKT, SOG, and other folders but just want something new in your life Case is the one. Everything is flush, everything is quality.If you are worried about the absence of a liner-lock please note that Case does make models with liner locks.....or button locks for that matter. But make no mistake there is a audible click / pop when the blade is opened and contacts the end spring. I don't worry about it anymore like I did before I tried one. Actually, I found a Stockman model made in 1980 and a Peanut model made in '95 the other day and it functions just as good as their 2015 counterparts.If you're curious about one of these but are thinking more economical like Buck or Uncle Mike please do yourself a favor and don't bother. Not that they're terrible or anything but they don't have anywhere near the build quality or quality of materials invested in them as does a Case knife. Most often than not those other companies utilize cheaper materials and inferior metals and don't have near the tolerances that a Case does. Buy it once.

Case has been a brand knife for as long as I can remember. This is a excellent knife very sharp.
This is a very good knife, don't waste your money on buying something made in China. Spend a little more and buy a Case knife, then you can rely on it. It stays sharp, and I use it quite often.

Fantastic Knife
I bought this knife to carry around in my pocket while working around the house and in the woods. My brother really likes Case knives so I figured I'd give them a try. The current knives that I carry are smaller being about 2 1/2 inches long and I thought that this knife would be a more appropriate size at about 3 1/2 inches long closed. The knife is very well constructed. The finish is beautiful and the bone sides are perfectly fitted to the end plates. I went back and forth for some time whether or not to get the Chrome vanadium blades ore the stainless steel. I finally settled on the Chrome vanadium figuring that I would weekly keep the knife oiled. So far, I've had the knife for about 2 or 3 months and I've seen no signs of tarnishing or blade discoloration. My only concern is that the knife looks too good for everyday carry. I didn't know how I'd like the red bone finish but it looks beautiful.I highly recommend the for those looking for an everyday carry knife that is constructed well and made by a great company.

Great Quality
My husband loves the quality of this brand. He wanted a new yellow handle with John 3:16 on it, because his was old. I ordered this new one to give him for Christmas. Well, it must be Christmas, because he has it. I just can't wait, and always give gifts early. He is so pleased with it. Not a flaw on it. Perfect.

Just about the perfect pocket-sized knife
I own several Case XX pocket knives and it's hard to find fault with any of them. If you are a collector and want to haggle about something, you probably could find the occasional knife with an uncentered blade or poor factory edge. But, on the whole, the vast majority of the Case knives I own have been as well made as knives costing 2-3 times more and better value than knives costing 2-3 times less. Case just plain makes good pocket knives at reasonable prices.Of all the styles Case makes, I rank the Trapper near the top for most purposes although the Stockman is my favorite and most used pattern. The full size model is enough knife for most heavier cutting tasks but at just over 4 inches closed, it can be a bit too much for a pants pocket already stuffed with keys, coins, nail clippers, cell phones and whatever else we can jam in there. The Mini Trapper is the same configuration as the full size model but a little bit smaller and a good bit more pocket friendly. The down-sized knife will provide good service for most people's needs. If you're a knife knut like me, you probably have more than one cutting instrument accessible most of the time anyway--usually a larger knife, hatchet or axe in the vehicle--so settling on a knife the size of the Mini Trapper for pocket carry makes very good sense.This particular Mini Trapper has chestnut jigged bone handles and chrome vanadium blades. The chestnut bone is really quite pretty and my knife has the panels perfectly set and aligned. I own another Mini Trapper with yellow delrin panels--also perfectly fitted. The yellow handled knife is very retro and nice in its own right but, as far as being pretty is concerned, the chestnut bone is really smart looking. Both knives are up to daily work tasks. Both Minis are in CV steel. While it's more traditional to the older style slipjoint pocket knives like Case, it requires a little extra care to prevent it from rusting. It's not hard to take care of, however. You clean it after use, never put it away wet or dirty, apply a little oil to the joints and the surface of the blade and let the knife develop a patina. The patina is the darkening of the steel that non-stainless blades develop from contact with the chemicals in various substances. This patina helps to protect the blade. If you're not up to taking care of your knives or you just like for them to stay shiny, Case also makes these knives in stainless steel and it performs well.The Mini Trapper has two blades--a California Clip point blade and a Spey point blade. It's hard to argue with the usefulness of either of these. The "California" style clip is slightly differently shaped from standard clip point blades but it has the same uses. I don't think I'll ever need the Spey blade for castrating calves out on the ranch but the more rounded point is good for purposes when you don't need a sharp pointed blade. Both blades do fine for slicing apples, stripping wire, whittling wood, opening packages and other mundane daily tasks.These days you can spend a lot more for a pocket knife. You can also spend a lot less. As far as value, quality build and excellent functionality, I highly recommend a Case XX pocket knife.

Excelente calidad

Very, very disappointing
I am an avid knife collector with around 30 or so high class knives by various manufacturers. I wanted a small, UK legal penknife and, as I have never owned a Case knife, decided to buy this one.Overall, the quality of materials used is excellent, and the fit and finish of the handle scales, liners and bolsters is exemplary.Sadly, though, the knife is badly let down by excessive side-to-side blade play on both blades. Even worse, on unwrapping the knife and opening the blades for the first time, I discovered the edges were the worst I have ever seen on a new knife. They were ragged and rough and looked like they had been used to cut house-bricks!So, not only is this the first Case knife that I have ever bought but it will also be the last.
