Very well made & absolutely waterproof, but takes up a lot of space.
I am a frequent cyclist and like to track my trip using my cell phone's GPS receiver while running Endomondo. I also wanted to be able to get turn by turn navigation as well as watch my progress and heart rate conveniently while riding and this mount fit the bill. It's most certainly waterproof; I've ridden on many occasions in the rain, including complete downpours and my phone has never seen so much as a drop while inside this mount.Mount - The mounting clamp this uses to affix to the handlebar is absolutely superb. It requires no tools to install or adjust, and when clamped it stays put. The rubber insert on the clamp is part of the clamp itself, so you never have to worry about lining it up or losing it. If only the remaining circus of gadgets I have on my handlebars had this mount I'd be an especially happy camper.Enclosure - The phone enclosure is well made and waterproof as advertised. There is a zipper like seal at the top, and an outer flap that folds over it to the back. It's quite large and is able to accommodate large phone sizes. It also swivels! If I want to look at my phone in horizontal mode or simply just angle it a bit I can do so with just a push of my hand. There are times however I don't need this to be waterproof; when wanting to listen to music through headphones or when charging from a power bank. There is no way to feed a power cord into the enclosure even with the seal wide open. Connecting my headphones to the phone while inside is a painful task, and removing the phone from the enclosure is also a bit of a task. One must however expect there to be more limited functionality in a housing capable of being waterproof. I have no problems whatsoever using the touchscreen on my phone through the clear cover.Profile & Size - This is the only aspect I don't care for as much with this item. It takes up a ridiculous amount of handlebar space. Its presence detracts from the bike's streamlined aerodynamic look. I expect it to take up the size of the phone, but the width of the enclosure somewhat extends beyond the width of the phone. I place my Samsung Galaxy S5 inside with the case attached - it completely fills the space yet the enclosure still extends around the phone at least several centimeters on each side. This makes for a very large a clunky object lounging on your handlebar and consumes usable space I'd prefer to use for an additional headlight or extra breathing room for my GoPro. This inconvenience however is overshadowed by the countless positive features of this item in general. When riding in heavy rain this is much less of a priority as I'm more preoccupied with my confidence on its ability to keep my phone dry.I'd recommend this mount to anyone who doesn't overly-value the real estate of their handlebar, and highly recommend it to anyone that intends to ride with their phone in heavy rain.

Seriously high quality stuff and a BONUS "use"
My requirement was to attach my S4 to the road bike. I was hoping it would allow me to put my s4 with cellto wallet case inside, but unfortunately with that wallet case it was a hair too big.No matter though, I just pop it out of the cellto case when I get on the bike and slide the phone into the case. It's an extra step, but it's no big deal for me. It would probably fit with a fairly thin case like my old Acase Superlegerra or whatever it was :).There are a few VERY cool things about this case:1. You can fit nearly anything up to the size of a S4 (maybe a note-doubt it.) So if you change phones later, you should be okay unless you go up in size.2. It's very well sealed. That's good for bike riding sure, but a use I hadn't thought of previously was having my phone around water/the pool/the beach. I've watched some pretty unlikely things happen around pools and the ocean, so it's nice to have a case I can throw the phone in and be fairly confident it'll survive a quick dunk anyway.3. Touch screen works pretty well. It's not perfect, but then again, it's a plastic bag.4. Mount is secure. The mount is very well built and has a strap that comes with it to protect your bike's paint. The clamp on the bike itself is similar to a quick release skewer which makes it easy to remove if need be. The clamp for the bag to the mount is very secure and has 2 locking mechanisms on it. One that works just fine and another to make double sure it doesn't come off. The mount can also easily be rotated.Other things I was concerned about: Call clarity...both listening and talking. One of the primary reasons I got this was I had a run in (which you can read about on my Zefal Doodad review) where calling 911 while riding away from some punk kids would have been VERY useful. I was somewhat worried that the party on the other end (whether it be a friend or ...hopefully never, 911) wouldn't be able to understand me as well. However, that's no issue. I can also hear music or the other party pretty darn well! Finally, CONS:- it's BIG and not exactly pretty. Function beats out form though here in a big way.- The rotating mount rotates just a hair too easily for my tastes and I would like it to be able to lock into place. It may do that, but I haven't found a way to do it yet. I'll update if I figure it out upon further inspection.Summary: Great safety device (so you can call while moving for help if ever needed), great way to take your tunes along, or of course the most obvious use - the ability to use any of the many great cycling/gps apps while riding!

Nice features and I'm confident it will protect my phone
Does what it says. I can tell that my iPhone will be more than safe from any water during my rides. It fits securely on my aero bars, and i can easily tilt it away from my forearms. It has a nice feature where you easily swivel it from portrait to landscape mode while you are riding. I've only had it for a couple of months, but so far the swivel mechanism seems to be holding up pretty well. I have an iPhone 5S, and this is not a tight fitting case. I like this feature because i can leave the thin everyday case i have on my iPhone on, and still easily get it into and out of the RideMate case. The touch screen works well. The fingerprint sensor does not work through the plastic, but i don't mind as i feel my phone is well protected and the touch screen works more than adequately. The only thing i'd change is to have less trim along the outside edges as it rubs against my arms when i mount it on the aero bars requiring me to tilt it in. If they could trim a couple of millimeters all around it would be perfect.

A very useful and well-made product
This seems like a very well-made and sturdy product. it was easy to fit to the bike and kept my phone dry and its screen visible on a wet bike ride - just what I wanted to enable me to use a cycling app. I've only used the mount once so far, so cannot attest to its longevity, but it seems pretty robust. I'm not sure how well it would stand up to a big crash, and hope I never have to find out! The attachment of the pocket to the mount seems quite secure, and the swivel mechanism (to change the aspect from portrait to landscape) is easy to operate. It would be good to have the option of a spare mount so I could more easily transfer the pocket part from one bike to another. Like many cyclists, I have more than one bicycle and I vary what I ride according to the conditions. It's not difficult to swap the mount between bikes, but I also have to swap my lights over too and it all adds to the general faffing about time. When I've been using this for a while I'll try and remember to post an update about how it's standing up to more prolonged use. For now I'd give it the thumbs up.

Good value, works well for me
I bought this principally as protection for my iPhone 4S on a week-long cycle tour. I selected the RideMate because it claims to be waterproof and not simply water-resistant (be sure to select this option on the awkward dual-item Amazon page if that's what you want), because the mount looked like it would go on the thick horizontal part of my bike stem, and it looked good value for money. The mount fits my bike well. It could easily be transferred to another bike; there are pros and cons here as it could 'walk'.When mounted, the phone does not appear to be that secure but I've used it on teeth-jangling cobbles and it is fine; just be sure to engage the safety lock.I trusted the waterproofing test described in techpuppy's review but chose not to mount the phone on the bike the day I rode through a torrential thunderstorm; so my testing has not been so severe but all appears well. The case is a little large so the phone can move around in it; I need to be sure it is the right end before using the camera, though the the quality of the photos appears undiminished by the plastic. The extra space means that I could attached a charging cable and run it from a portable external battery in my handlebar bag though I have not needed to try this. If I changed my phone for a slightly larger one, it would still fit.All in all I am very pleased with the purchase.

Works well, good protection.
As described, the phone is kept dry in the rain and you can use it whilst in the case. Easy to fit the clamp to the handlebars and seems secure whilst off roading. My only criticism is that it is very large and looks huge on the handlebars! A well made product.

High quality but very large!
This is a very secure mount and case and would certainly provide good protection on the wet. My only minor negative is that the case is quite large externally whilst being a pretty tight fit internally (for my galaxy S5).I'm very happy with the quality.

Good product. Protects my iPhone 6 well when cycling ...
Good product. Protects my iPhone 6 well when cycling in heavy rain. Touchscreen works fine through the transparent cover. The mount and brackets are solid and fit well - cycled through some very bumpy terrain without worrying about the bracket coming off.The only tiny problem with iPhone6 is that since the on/off button is on the side, if the screen goes off, it's a bit of a hassle turning it back on through the cover. Also be careful about getting grit or sand particles between the screen and the transparent cover as it could damage the screen or puncture the cover...
