The steel is not hard at all. When I hit it with my hammer it leaves dents in the metal

Cheep, soft metal
The first time I used this anvil it scared the surface with deep inprints of the item that was being formed. Not happy at all...I would suggest not purchasing it!

Received different anvil than I ordered. Plus damaged
Received different anvil than was pictured when ordered. Anvil has no hardy hole in tabletop as advertised. A feature I need. Also there was damage to edge of table top as if it had been dropped or struck. Missing paint with rust forming. Wasn’t happy. They refunded me $25 after back and forth communication. Live and learn at times I guess. Hopefully this review can help someone else make sure they are getting what they paid for.
