A themed collection of classic shorts
Despite what the back of the DVD states, there are not 20 cartoons in this collection, there are 17. There are indeed the highest number included on the USA version, but three of them were cut from the UK edition for some reason. Also, a picture from the classic short 'Drip Along Daffy' is on the back, but this does not appear either.Region two releases of the 'Looney Tunes' are a rare occurrence now, so hopefully this new one will sell enough copies to encourage further collections, preferably filled with cartoons that haven't yet been released on this format before the struggling DVD is no more. Because of this, I was delighted to have 'Looney Tunes Parodies Collection', a themed anthology of cartoons that really are parodies, from famous movies to popular literature. In chronological (bar one: Super Rabbit') order we have 1936's Tex Avery directed 'I Love to Singa' to 2004's 'Hare and Loathing in Las Vegas'. The massive time period in between the oldest and newest sort is a real testament to the massively enduring appeal this cartoon franchise has had for so many generations. Alas, most of these shorts have been readily available on DVD for some time, but as a wonderful bonus we do have three Bugs Bunny cartoons making their debut on this format, 'Jack-Wabbit and the Beanstalk', 'Rabbitson Crusoe' and the clip-show 'Hare-Abian Nights', the latter of which I was particularly thrilled about because I loved it as a child but had completely forgotten about it. It should be noted, that although the quality of these shorts is still satisfying, they have not been remastered like the othersThere are many highlights to be found here, perhaps no more so than that musical masterpiece, the Chuck Jones' directed 'What's Opera, Doc?', largely considered to be one of the greatest cartoons of all time. Largely speaking, I'm not the biggest fan of the later 'Looney Tunes' cartoons, but 1995's 'Carrotblanca' has always been a favourite, produced by the writing team of the excellent 'Animaniacs' and it shows. Surprisingly enough, ''Super Rabbit' is not the 1943 short but the last episode of the sitcom-ish series 'The Looney Tunes Show' from 2014, which sends up the hugely popular superhero genre. To introduce youngsters to the Golden Age of Warners Bros animation and most of the characters that make up the 'Looney Tunes' dream-team, this is a neat introduction which mixes in a good selection of more modern material. To those slightly older who simply wish to relive it all again, 'Looney Tunes Parodies Collection' is also very appealing.

Nice collection of classics with just one glaring error
This is overall a good collection of classic Looney Tunes shorts (mainly Bugs Bunny ones), along with the more modern shorts made in the 90s and early 2000s. My favorites on this include I Love to Singa, Little Red Riding Rabbit, and Carrotblanca. However, there is one unfortunate problem with the set. Instead of featuring the Bugs Bunny short Super Rabbit from 1943, the disc has the TV episode Super Rabbit from The Looney Tunes Show of the early 2010s. Now I actually am a fan of that show, even though others LT fans weren't, but the main problem is that the rest of the cartoons on the disc are placed in order of release, whereas the Super Rabbit TV episode is placed third instead of at the end of the list. That clearly indicates that they meant to place the Super Rabbit short on the disc, but someone got it mixed up with the TV episode of the same name. Other than that error, it's a good set.
