My kid literally just ripped the wedges off. My 2 year old likes to open a window that overlooks our driveway. We put these on in hopes it would lock the window (he already can operate both the lock and the safety lock built into the window). We installed them correctly and he just ripped them off.. Not great for toddlers.

I bought these as a security measure. Bottom line, if someone wants to get into your house, it doesn’t matter what you do short of bars on windows.These are in place to make it difficult. I like having the windows open when it is not too hot. These hold on place very well and stop the window. They stay in place on the Velcro when the window is pushed against them. The adhesive on the Velcro strip seems very strong. Make sure you clean the area with window cleaner so you are taping to a clean area!! Again, if someone is determined it’s more likely they’ll break the window rather having this fail.Our kids are grown and gone, so we wanted something that we could go away and leave the windows open a little and not worry. I am confident that these do the trick!

I bought this for a different purpose than intended. I have horizontal sliding windows that can be removed for easy washing by lifting them up and inward out of the track. I wanted to be able to have the window open a little, secured by thumb screws in the track, without a thief being able to walk by and lift my entire window out.Since there's a gap between the top of the window and the top of the track, I bought these to mount in the gap. The velcro attachment prevents them from sliding along with the window and getting out of position. With one mounted in the gap above the window, the window can no longer be lifted high enough to be removed.All I have to do is close the window fully, remove the wedge, and I can lift my windows out again.Tips: Clean the area with rubbing alcohol before applying the velcro. Make sure the velcro goes on STRAIGHT. When seating the wedge, press it on the velcro and slide it along the velcro back and forth a little until it catches very firmly.

Easy solution. I use a portable air conditioner in my man cave that needs an exhaust vent. WIth the window open about 6 in there was no way to secure it on a window where the upper and lower sections both moved. Just did the job perfectly easy to install and very secure.

These are durable and long lasting - this is my 2nd set - 1st set bought 15 years ago to child proof the windows - now using to hold AC units in .... Does not damage the window

3 year old hasn't figured it out and they're not broken!Dosen't harm window seals at all and we've moved them to allow limited open window....still works as food as day one!

Adhesion is good, I found for my older style windows I actually had to mount them with the fatter bit Closer to the window to get the window to stop. Otherwise, my 4-year-old could just power past the gradual slope of the plastic stopper.

My twin 2 year olds love sneaking out of their cribs after nap and messing with the window locks, they have never been able to actually open the window luckily but I got these as another line of defense to foil them. But day one they just ripped them right off, so they are essentially useless to us. A child determined or strong enough to attempt to open a window will hardly be slowed down be these.
